Quick background. I have mostly played 3.5 and 2.0. I am reading quite a lot about Pathfinder and currently DM'ing a 3.5 campaign. If this is a bad question I am sorry. If the answer is written in text please let me know, because I would love to read it.

My basic question why is it that in books half orcs and half elves are the offspring of a human parent?

Could an orc not just as easily rape an elf, halfling or possibly a dwarf?

Just a random question that his been on my mind.

Thank you.

Sure, but there aren't any stats for more exotic half-breeds as far as I know. You could just use the half-orc stats and call it a day.

I could see it being not that difficult for a race that already has a half breed selection like half elf. Take the half ork and half elf and split a few of the bonus's. Perhaps a bonus to dex but a minus to charisma or something.

Older D&D also said that orcs were infertile with elves. Pretty much ONLY elves, but infertile with elves.

It might have something to do with their patron racial deities being mortal enemies. Pretty sure there'd be smiting involved.

Just a thought, really.
