Poisons!

I have some PC's that will be attempting to kill a small family of rival nobles. They are unknown to the nobles and I have introduced an NPC to make introductions. They just need to find a way to kill the entire family, but not make it look like murder. At least not connected to them or their employers. They have decided that the old bed ridden patriarch will be smothered, but want to poison the rest of the family. Is there any resource that can give me a description of what the poisons do to the victim other than what stat dmg it does?

Or...if anyone knows any specific poisons that would be good for this I would be happy to hear your suggestions.

Maybe you have an idea on how to pull this all off that doesn't even require poisons.

I know there's an awesome poison handbook (http://brilliantgameologists.com/boards/index.php?topic=4854.msg162787#msg162787) that probably has the information you want and explains it better than most of us could.

I also know that the cheapest way to make poisons is usually by using minor creation, but those poisons are only temporary, which is actually a pretty great tool for assassinations since it means you can poison someone and then when the spell's duration ends the poison leaves the body leaving behind no evidence.

DMG page 298 is where you find out about poisons in general.
There are a few in Dungeonscape, Complete Scoundrel, and Libris Mortis.

You can find most of the poisons here (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=63130), though it's a bit old.

And this one (http://brilliantgameologists.com/boards/index.php?topic=4854.0) from brilliant gameologists.
