View Full Version : [Trial] Riddletuck the Third vs. Al the Mutt and Silas

El Jaspero, the Pirate King
2007-01-25, 10:11 PM
El J claps a long red wig on his head and bangs his gavel.

"Here begins the Riddletuck vs. Al and Silas trial. Be warned, I have little patience for shenanigans and badgering of witnesses or officers of the court.

"Al and Silas are accused of assault, theft, tresspassing, disturbing the peace and torture. Potential witnesses include Silas, Al the Mutt, Lord Riddletuck the Third, and sundry marksmen from the warrior's guild.

"Evidence is to be found at http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=32682.

"Al and Silas, please state your pleas. If any participants in this action wish legal counsel, they should state it now."

Deus Mortus
2007-01-25, 10:12 PM
Lord Riddletuck walks in, My Lord judge, as a legal advisor I would like to summon an old friend of mine, a celestial being by the name of Kratos, do I have permission for this?

El Jaspero, the Pirate King
2007-01-25, 10:15 PM
"Is this friend to serve as your legal counsel?"

Deus Mortus
2007-01-25, 10:16 PM
Yes my lord he is.

McBish
2007-01-25, 10:17 PM
Al enters with McBish at his side. I plead not guilty on all counts your honor. I would like to have McBish as my legal counsel.

Silas
2007-01-25, 10:27 PM
"I plead not guilty as well, and would like to have McBish also as my legal counsel."

El Jaspero, the Pirate King
2007-01-25, 11:12 PM
Judge Jaspero nods. "All motions of counsel are approved. Kratos, please make your apperance and present your case."

Deus Mortus
2007-01-26, 06:06 AM
Kratos appears in the court in a flash of bright light, he wears a golden armour with a white cape with the sign of Tyr, the cape gives way to his white wings.

Good day your honor, I am Kratos legal councel of Lord Riddletuck. I present his case as such may Tyr bless me with his knowledge, Lord Riddletuck was assaulted and abused by the two officers Al the Mutt and Silas, while trying to bring good to the people of the Town by constructing a funeral center. They threatened to assault a pack of demons on the cemetery grounds even after they were told it was under control. After this they continued to mentally abuse Lord Riddletuck untill the situation was taken care of by the markmen hired by Lord Riddletuck, even after this they continued to threaten and thusly mentally abuse Lord Riddletuck. I will attempt to show they are guilty of this and that their actions were a misconduct on their part. I shall do this as a neutral party even though I represent Lord Riddeltuck, so bless me Tyr.

El Jaspero, the Pirate King
2007-01-26, 07:18 AM
The judge raises an eyebrow and shifts his long, red wig. "A follower of Tyr representing those who consort with demons. This should be interesting...

"McBish, please make your opening statements."

Deus Mortus
2007-01-26, 07:40 AM
If I may interject your honor before McBish proceeds, my client did not consort with demons, the demons have been killed on his command the only reason the officers were not allowed to do this because he feared damage to his property and as such I rquest that that comment be scraped of the record.

McBish
2007-01-26, 10:12 AM
I have no objection to Kratos's motion.

El Jaspero, the Pirate King
2007-01-26, 10:12 AM
"The comment was merely an aside, but so be it; it will be struck from the record. McBish, please proceed."

McBish
2007-01-26, 10:30 AM
McBish proceeds with his opening statment. Your honor these charges are so riddiculus when I first heard them I had to laugh. These officers didn't assault or abuse anyone. They might have tried to get an uncopertive citzen to stop hindering an ongoing police investigation but no where did they assault or abuse him. Al the mutt was the priamry officer in this case and had been watching the demons in the cemetary for long before this Riddletuck bought the cemetary. He was in the cemetary on a stake out for a couple of days when he noticed they were active he called in reinforcements and prepared to capture these demons, or kill if it became nessacary, which was a strong possiblity.
Officer Silas responded to Al's call for reinforcments and came and followed the orders that Al gave him. Riddletuck told the officers that he was going to take care of this, but the officers were wary letting such a dangerous job go in the hands of this town's citzens, esspecially since they had no way of knowing that these citzens were prepared to fight demons. But upon seeing the effectivness of the marksmen they agreed to leave and not arrest the "Lord" ((He doesn't do the finger thing, just his tone shows doubt of his lordship.)) or the marksmen of ubstruction of justice, but did warn Riddletuck that intefering with police buisness was a good way to end up in jail. They then left as peacefully as they came and even removed the bodies of the demons.
And your honor I wish the charges of torture to be dismissed as it is a affront to this courtroom and anyone who has been really tortured, to allow that farce of a charge to stand. McBish says this last part with deadly seriousness.

Deus Mortus
2007-01-26, 10:33 AM
((am I allowed to response to that or wait for the judge? ))

McBish
2007-01-26, 10:36 AM
((Um... Shrugs. I'm fine with you responding. This isn't a real court room and the rules are different.))

Deus Mortus
2007-01-26, 10:40 AM
If I may intervene, misster McBish is drawing conclusions here that are up to a judge to decide, also dropping a charge like that is against everything the legal system stands for, if your clients are innocent the charges will be dropped, dropping them prematurely only creates the risk that they were true and that they will get away with it. I find your opening an insult to the legal system and unproffesional to say the least.

Kyrian
2007-01-26, 10:42 AM
((McBish is a guy))

Deus Mortus
2007-01-26, 10:42 AM
((Ow, I didn't know the char Kyrian was gay, I'm sorry, I'll correct this.))

McBish
2007-01-26, 10:44 AM
((Damm... I wish we had a pretrial then I could have gotten the charge thrown out there, along with a couple of the others.))

The only insult to the legal system are these charges. I could have asked to drop them all. But from your statments you claim that because these officers asking Riddletuck to comply with them is a form of tourter. A mockery if I ever heard one. McBish then stands silent waiting for the judges descion.

((Um did I miss something? Oh you called me Miss. No McBish is a guy. My main avatar is Lillah one of my many PC's.))

Kyrian
2007-01-26, 10:44 AM
((WHat the hell? Do you even read the posts?? MCBISH IS A GUY!))

Deus Mortus
2007-01-26, 10:45 AM
Unless you are an expert in mental abuse, I think you have no say in wether it is torture or not.

(( Yeah and you're in love with him right? *confused* ))

Kyrian
2007-01-26, 10:47 AM
((Kyrian's in love with Lillah, the FEMALE))

Deus Mortus
2007-01-26, 10:49 AM
((Right, Lillah McBish, right? ))

McBish
2007-01-26, 10:50 AM
((No McBish is a different PC from Lillah. She came into town after him. McBish is my nickname. I have mutiple PC's.))

Deus Mortus
2007-01-26, 10:51 AM
(( Doh, sorry >_< ))

Castaras
2007-01-26, 11:22 AM
Castaras opens a clairvoyance/clairaudience channel to listen to the trial from Trogs.

McBish
2007-01-26, 11:28 AM
((Don't worry about it Deus, but a hint might have been the fact that they speak in different colors. I just don't make Alts for all my characters.))

Deus Mortus
2007-01-26, 11:37 AM
(( I got hit in the head a few weeks back, rather hard, some of the colours blur for me like blue and purple or bright orange and yellow, it's getting better though and also, I have a wisdom score of about 2 :P ))

El Jaspero, the Pirate King
2007-01-26, 12:35 PM
Judge Jaspero bangs his gavel. "McBish, your motion to drop the frivolous charge of torture is approved. I find no malicious intent in the officers' conversations with Lord Riddletuck, and agree that these accusations are a shameful insult to victims of actual, harmful torture.

"Kratos, please call your first witness."

Deus Mortus
2007-01-26, 12:54 PM
((Dropping charges without hearing any of the witnesses? You are aware that that is pretty silly and impossible in any normal court of law, but I'll roll with it))

I would like to call upon Silas as my first witness.

El Jaspero, the Pirate King
2007-01-26, 02:31 PM
((In case you hadn't noticed, this isn't a normal court of law.))

"Silas, please step forward."

Deus Mortus
2007-01-26, 02:32 PM
(( I know, but it surprised me a bit, didn't think it would go through, but I had some fun questions about it ;) ))

McBish
2007-01-26, 03:49 PM
((Acctually you would need to show some sort of evidence in a pretrial to even get to a trial.))

Silas
2007-01-26, 08:51 PM
Silas takes the stand.

Deus Mortus
2007-01-26, 10:08 PM
((Acctually you would need to show some sort of evidence in a pretrial to even get to a trial.))

((and I would've, I had quite a statement to it, including "experts", character witnesses and stuff like that, that's why I'm kinda upset it got scrapped so easy, I prepared for it quite a bit...))

El Jaspero, the Pirate King
2007-01-27, 01:24 AM
Judge Jaspero nods and gives a slight bleat.

"Silas, do you swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth by that which you hold sacred?"

Silas
2007-01-27, 10:53 AM
Silas nods.

"I swear."

El Jaspero, the Pirate King
2007-01-27, 11:13 AM
The Judge looks up from eating the potted plant behind his desk and wipes his muzzle. "Very good. Kratos, please begin."

Deus Mortus
2007-01-27, 01:09 PM
Mr. Silas, how did you know that you had to come to the cemetery?

Silas
2007-01-27, 08:07 PM
"Al sent word to the station using our new police badges."

Deus Mortus
2007-01-27, 08:09 PM
When you arrived, how did the scene look and what did you do?

Silas
2007-01-27, 08:12 PM
"It looked like your client was interfering with Al's work, and I asked Al what was going on."

Silas
2007-01-28, 04:49 PM
((So are there any more questions??))

Deus Mortus
2007-01-28, 04:54 PM
((I was pretty sure I posted :S ))

For the record, is Al your superior officer?

Silas
2007-01-28, 04:55 PM
"One of several, yes."

Deus Mortus
2007-01-28, 04:57 PM
Is it expected that you listen to your officers no matter what happens?

Silas
2007-01-28, 05:00 PM
"I'm certain there are some exceptions, but yes."

Deus Mortus
2007-01-28, 05:16 PM
So if an superior is doing something wrong, is it expected from you to act?

Silas
2007-01-28, 05:33 PM
"Can you put the question in english?"

Deus Mortus
2007-01-28, 05:37 PM
Kratos sigh, If someone of a higher rank of you is going to f*ck up, are you expected to make sure he doesn't?

McBish
2007-01-28, 05:40 PM
Your honor my client simply didn't understand the question I see no reason why Kratos needs to take such an insulting tone.

Deus Mortus
2007-01-28, 05:44 PM
I did not take an insulting tone, I simply replied in a way that I would understand if I were not a warrior, I sighed because I imagine the judge might be insulted by my wording.

El Jaspero, the Pirate King
2007-01-28, 07:03 PM
((finally!))

http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m4/epiplectic/eljudge.gif

Judge Jaspero looks displeased indeed. "Both your tone and choice of words are objectionable. I run a clean, respectful courtroom, Kratos. Do that again and your client will be looking for another lawyer while you're in jail for contempt.

"Silas, do you understand the question?"

Deus Mortus
2007-01-28, 07:51 PM
As you wish m'lord

Silas
2007-01-29, 08:22 PM
"While it doesn't say anything in the book that I've seen about a surperior officer..."fricking up", I do believe that if they were about to kill an innocent, then I should step in and stop them."

Deus Mortus
2007-01-30, 08:31 AM
Why did you not further assess the situation when Lord Riddletuck told everything was under control?

McBish
2007-01-30, 09:04 AM
Objection your honor, he is assuming that my client didn't "further assess the situation" and there has been no testimony stating he hasn't.

El Jaspero, the Pirate King
2007-01-30, 09:23 AM
"Objection sustained. Please restate the question, Kratos."

Deus Mortus
2007-01-30, 09:25 AM
After hearing Al's report of what has happened and also hearing Lord Riddletuck claiming he had everything under control, why did you immediatly draw your weapon and told Lord Riddletuck he should not intervene?

Silas
2007-01-30, 10:22 AM
"Because I was ordered to arrest him. Truth be told, he was interfering with police business. Wether he had the situation under control or not was not in question. Let me point out that your client did what we like to call, Vigilantism in front of myself and Al."

Deus Mortus
2007-01-30, 10:37 AM
Were you aware that this was private property?

Silas
2007-01-30, 10:50 AM
"Was your client aware that we were doing our jobs?"

Deus Mortus
2007-01-30, 11:10 AM
Please answer my question mister Silas.

Silas
2007-01-30, 11:15 AM
"No, I was not aware that it was private property. But, the police had been trying to do their job, and your client interfered."

Deus Mortus
2007-01-30, 12:28 PM
Could you please tell me what the police's job was here?

Silas
2007-01-31, 06:52 PM
"To get rid of the demons."

Deus Mortus
2007-01-31, 06:58 PM
Why did you have to get rid of the demons?

Silas
2007-01-31, 07:00 PM
"Hmm...because it was our job?" Silas takes a surly aditude and glares at Kratos.

Deus Mortus
2007-01-31, 07:01 PM
Let me rephrase, how exactly did these demons break the law?

Silas
2007-01-31, 07:02 PM
"Let me ask you this, if they didn't, then why isn't your client in a cell for murder?"

Deus Mortus
2007-01-31, 07:04 PM
Kratos looks at the judge, Your honor, I cannot work with a witness who refuses to answer my questions.

Silas
2007-01-31, 07:05 PM
"We were there to arrest the demons for stealing bodies."

Deus Mortus
2007-01-31, 07:08 PM
And you did not realise that Lord Riddletuck also owns these bodies and never reported it as theft?

Silas
2007-01-31, 07:10 PM
"We were on the case before he owned the land."

McBish
2007-01-31, 07:11 PM
Objection your honor, I do not belive that Riddletuck owns the bodies in the cemetary and if need be I will bring in dozens of NPC families that will testify that they don't want there decesed family members stolen by demons.

Deus Mortus
2007-01-31, 07:12 PM
Your honor, the cemetery was bought by Lord Riddletuck to ensure a good burial grounds, he also bought all right to the bodies buried within. Imagine if this was a park and he bought it, but some of the plants there were planted by people other then the park owner, would he not still own those plants?

El Jaspero, the Pirate King
2007-02-01, 07:23 AM
Judge Jaspero raises an eyebrow. "From whom did Lord Riddletuck purchase the cemetery and its contents? One of those bodies is my own and I certainly did not sell it to him, nor grant permission to move it. Were it a park containing plants belonging to other people and it was purchase by someone else, those plants would still belong to the original owners unless the contract specifically said so."

Deus Mortus
2007-02-01, 08:13 AM
The park was bought from the mayor and I assume she has full clearance to do so, also no one has claimed the corpses either way even though we are clearly building and make no secret of what has happened.

El Jaspero, the Pirate King
2007-02-01, 09:06 AM
The judge peers at Kratos closely. "Nobody has 'claimed' these bodies? Aside from their families, descendants, friends, and the reincarnated people themselves? Just because something is unattended does not mean it is up for grabs for anybody who happens along. That's what we call 'theft' in a civil society. The remains within the cemetery are most certainly not the property of you, your client, or anybody other than a direct relative of the deceased or the deceased themselves."

McBish
2007-02-01, 09:19 AM
Thank you your honor I belive that makes the last question irrelevent, and wrong then.

Deus Mortus
2007-02-01, 09:27 AM
Very well, it seems my client and I were misjuding the nature of buying this land, if I may continue with questioning?

El Jaspero, the Pirate King
2007-02-01, 09:58 AM
"Please proceed."

Deus Mortus
2007-02-01, 10:02 AM
Mister Silas, how did you try to persuade my client to step down?

Deus Mortus
2007-02-03, 06:22 PM
((Bump, Silas please reply))

Silas
2007-02-03, 06:23 PM
"By telling him that he was under arrest for interfering with police business."

Deus Mortus
2007-02-03, 06:27 PM
So the basis for your harassment is that Lord Riddletuck was interfering with police business?

McBish
2007-02-03, 06:28 PM
Objection, what harassment?

Deus Mortus
2007-02-03, 06:36 PM
Let me rephrase, besides interfering with police work, did you have any other reason to arrest Lord Riddletuck?

Deus Mortus
2007-02-04, 11:19 AM
((Silas?))

Silas
2007-02-04, 11:21 AM
((No, I refuse to answer your question until you allow El Jaspero to handle the objection))

Deus Mortus
2007-02-04, 11:24 AM
((Ah alright, I thought you didn't see my post))

El Jaspero, the Pirate King
2007-02-04, 11:36 AM
((I was unaware that McBish was objecting to the second question as well. Is this the case, and if so on what grounds?))

McBish
2007-02-04, 11:45 AM
((Nope the second question is fine by me.))

El Jaspero, the Pirate King
2007-02-04, 11:48 AM
http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m4/epiplectic/eljudge.gif

"Then please answer the question, Silas."

Silas
2007-02-04, 11:50 AM
"Vigilantism."

Deus Mortus
2007-02-04, 11:51 AM
Could you please define vigilantism to me?

Silas
2007-02-04, 11:51 AM
"He took our job into his hands."

Deus Mortus
2007-02-04, 11:53 AM
So if the demons there had done no crimes, then there was no reason to arrest him?

AmberVael
2007-02-04, 12:12 PM
((If I could interject-
Vigilantism is not a crime in Town))

Silas
2007-02-04, 12:13 PM
"Objection, Your Honor, we've already established that the demons were taking bodies from their graves. Can we stop with Kratos' going around in pointless circles and holding us all up?"

McBish
2007-02-04, 12:13 PM
((Thank Vael we do apperciate it.))

El Jaspero, the Pirate King
2007-02-04, 12:14 PM
((If I could overrule: you're not participant in this trial, Vael. Zip it.))

Judge Jaspero nods. "While this Town does indeed have an established tradition of self-policing, it has also been established that these demons were removing remains of the deceased without their permission. Please move on, Kratos."

Deus Mortus
2007-02-04, 12:14 PM
This is a last question to make sure everyone understands this point.

AmberVael
2007-02-04, 12:15 PM
((I know I can't say anything IC, but just so people will be clear on how the law actually stands... as the lawyers probably should be))

McBish
2007-02-04, 12:16 PM
But your question is contriditcing the truth of the matter.

((My previous post was sort of sarcastic.))

Deus Mortus
2007-02-04, 12:18 PM
No it is not, I am merely asking if there is any other crime Riddletuck might be arrested for that is not tied to the demons.

El Jaspero, the Pirate King
2007-02-04, 07:34 PM
"Silas, would you care to answer the question?"

Silas
2007-02-06, 06:56 AM
"No, there was not."

Deus Mortus
2007-02-06, 04:35 PM
Thank you mister Silas, no more questions.

El Jaspero, the Pirate King
2007-02-06, 04:46 PM
Judge Jaspero nods. "McBish, your witness."

McBish
2007-02-06, 06:12 PM
Silas were you ordered to arrest Riddletuck?

Silas
2007-02-08, 09:13 PM
"Yes I was."

McBish
2007-02-09, 12:31 AM
Was that order later rescinded?

Silas
2007-02-14, 11:48 AM
"Yes it was."

McBish
2007-02-14, 11:50 AM
Did you ever touch or attack Riddletuck?

Silas
2007-02-14, 12:02 PM
"No I did not."

McBish
2007-02-14, 03:20 PM
Did you remove anything from the cemetary that didn't belong to you?

Silas
2007-02-14, 04:33 PM
"Nope, didn't even touch anything."

McBish
2007-02-14, 06:04 PM
I have no more questions for this witness.

El Jaspero, the Pirate King
2007-02-14, 07:50 PM
Judge Jaspero nods. "Silas, please be seated. Kratos, have you any more witnesses to call?"

Deus Mortus
2007-02-15, 08:14 AM
Kratos stands up, I would like to call up Graklok.

Silas
2007-02-15, 09:30 AM
Silas steps down.

"Objection your honor. Graklok was not around at the time of these events, what relevance does he have to Riddletuck's accusations against us?"

Deus Mortus
2007-02-15, 09:39 AM
Your honor, Graklok is the original gravedigger and can shed some light on the case.

Graklok
2007-02-15, 09:44 AM
Graklok comes into the courtroom.

Hewwo Evybody. Hewwo Captain! Graklok smiles and says as he enters. He proceeds to a bench near the front of the room, but not past the spectator point.

Silas
2007-02-15, 10:14 AM
Silas glares at Kratos. "Could you possibly...oh, I don't know, shush and allow the judge to answer my objection before you open your mouth?"

Deus Mortus
2007-02-15, 10:33 AM
Kratos looks at Silas with obvious contempt, I was explaining my witness as is usual and I would prefer some respect.

McBish
2007-02-15, 05:14 PM
I'm sorry my client has been put under a great deal of stress due to these charges. I'm sure you understand. He looks at both Silas and Kratos and smiles..

Deus Mortus
2007-02-15, 05:29 PM
Kratos gives a slight nudge of the head to McBish, but the way he does it seems more regal then the most practiced bow, Understandable, he turns to look at El J, Your honor what is your verdict in this matter?

El Jaspero, the Pirate King
2007-02-15, 08:46 PM
http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m4/epiplectic/eljudge.gif

Judge Jaspero gives Graklok a friendly nod. "I can see no harm in allowing the Town's gravedigger to explain his trade, though I will be interested to see what light he can shine on this case. Graklok, please come up to the witness stand."

Deus Mortus
2007-02-15, 08:52 PM
((BTW El J, since when do you have long red hair?))

El Jaspero, the Pirate King
2007-02-15, 08:53 PM
((It's my Gwen wig!))

Deus Mortus
2007-02-15, 08:58 PM
((Now that you tell me I can see yeah, was a bit confused xD ))

Graklok
2007-02-15, 09:20 PM
Gralkok nods and makes his way up to the stand.

Uh, Graklok no gwavedigga no more. Graklok used ta dig gwaves befo' Graklok became piwate. arrr!He whispers the last part quietly.

((I thought the red hair wig was a nice touch!))

Deus Mortus
2007-02-15, 09:32 PM
((It is, but I didn't immediately recognize it as a wig ;) ))

El Jaspero, the Pirate King
2007-02-15, 10:18 PM
"Graklok, do you swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth by that which you hold sacred?"

Graklok
2007-02-16, 11:17 AM
Graklok do!

El Jaspero, the Pirate King

Judge Jaspero nods.

"Kratos, please begin."

Deus Mortus
2007-02-17, 08:47 PM
Kratos walks over to Graklok and smiles, Graklok, could you please tell me if you ever worked as a gravedigger?

Graklok
2007-02-18, 12:08 AM
Graklok did. Graklok dug gwaves for beer. Sometimes bodies lie in stweets, so Graklok pick em up and bring to gwave, den bury 'em. Graklok bury Kitty George (Sneak), - he lie in Trog's fer few days befo Graklok get him outta der.

Deus Mortus
2007-02-18, 11:34 AM
Graklok did you use any kind of system to organize the graves?

Graklok
2007-02-18, 08:55 PM
Uh, no...nope. Graklok jus' grab shovel and dig hole. Graklok sometime dig in same spot, dirt easier move dat way.. Graklok did bury Kitty George where Kitty George requested though.

Deus Mortus
2007-02-19, 06:56 AM
Did you bury them around the same spot or just all around the graveyard?

McBish
2007-02-19, 11:21 AM
Your honor I have to object to this line of questions due to the fact that they seem to have no relevance to the case.

El Jaspero, the Pirate King
2007-02-19, 11:38 AM
"Objection sustained. Get to the point or move along, Kratos."

Deus Mortus
2007-02-19, 02:38 PM
Your honor, I am trying to show that no crime was done.

Graklok, if someone wanted to rearrange the graves, how would he do that?

Graklok
2007-02-19, 02:52 PM
Uh...dunno. Graklok 'spose could move stones like Graklok did when in way.

McBish
2007-02-19, 03:25 PM
Your honor if no crime was done why are we here?

Deus Mortus
2007-02-19, 03:42 PM
I meant that the demons in the graveyard were not committing a crime.

Graklok, let me specify, if someone had to move all the headstones and corpses, how would that have to be done, be as specific as you can, describe every step.

McBish
2007-02-19, 03:43 PM
Again then I must object to this question as irrelevent.

Kyrian
2007-02-19, 03:44 PM
Silas stands. "And I must once again object to Kratos' lack of allowing the judge to respond to our objections."

Graklok
2007-02-19, 04:03 PM
Graklok confused. Did Graklok say sumtin' wrong? Why evybody shoutin' when Graklok 'bout ta speak?

Deus Mortus
2007-02-19, 04:06 PM
Kratos balls his fist, but says nothing eyes closed untill he seems to relax.

Mr. Silas, it is no more then fair if I can defend my question, else the judge would not be able to formulate a proper decision on the objection. Also may I note that you are not on stand nor are you a legal representative. Your honor, if you would please have Silas be removed for disrupting the trial.

El Jaspero, the Pirate King

http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m4/epiplectic/eljudge.gif

Judge Jaspero gives Kratos a look. "I am not about to remove the defendant from his own trial for merely asking a question. All present here can well imagine the gravedigger's art without a lengthy description, Kratos; if you have an argument to make, make it now so we can move on."

Deus Mortus
2007-02-19, 05:43 PM
Very well, Graklok as an ex-gravedigger, do you think that the demons already pulling out the corpses would've sped up the process of reorganizing the graves?

Graklok
2007-02-21, 10:29 AM
Graklok dunno. Demons fass..and mindy hanes, no...uh miny hands...no, uh, many hands...yeah dat's it...many hands make less work. So 'spose the could organ gwaves fasser.

Graklok seems to keep pondering this thought for a awhile, until the next question at least.

Kyrian
2007-02-21, 10:31 AM
Kyrian, having been watching silently until now, looks to Jaspero. Your Honor, I know that I'm not part of this trial, but if I may make a comment?

Deus Mortus
2007-02-21, 12:20 PM
((Kyrian if you wanna do that, I suggest PM'ing me or McBish depending on which side you want to take and be a witness.))

Graklok, for the record and as my last question, who made you the gravedigger?

Kyrian
2007-02-21, 12:25 PM
((Not to be a witness, I have a comment))

El Jaspero, the Pirate King
2007-02-21, 09:11 PM
"Unless you're called as an expert or witness, the court requests that you hold your tongue Kyrian."

McBish
2007-02-21, 11:57 PM
Your honor again I wonder what this has to do with the trial? Aren't we here to find out if Al and Silas assaulted Riddletuck. These questions about what the demons were doing there are pointless.

Graklok
2007-02-22, 03:14 AM
Dat powice chief guy, in poorpel, um....Sugapoof...no dat's not it....um, Soopagoof, yeah him hire Graklok, for case of lagar evy day.

Deus Mortus
2007-02-22, 02:24 PM
Your honor, my question is indeed important, to show that Graklok had the job legitimately.

El Jaspero, the Pirate King
2007-02-22, 02:59 PM
"Objection overruled; the legitimacy of the demons' actions is in question, as that is the crux of the GUFIPOLICE officers' actions against them. That said, I think it has been well established that Graklok was legally employed as a gravedigger under the direction of former Police Chief Supagoof so unless you have some other minutiae of gravedigging you'd like to discuss, move along, Kratos."

Deus Mortus
2007-02-22, 03:06 PM
Like I said, that was my last question.

AmberVael
2007-02-22, 03:08 PM
((The GUFIPOLICE do not exist. There is, however, the Town Police Force))

El Jaspero, the Pirate King
2007-02-22, 03:18 PM
((Nor do people not present in this courthouse.))

"Very good; McBish, have you any questions for this witness?"

Deus Mortus
2007-02-22, 03:33 PM
Kratos makes a small bow with his head to the judge and returns to his seat next to Tinderhall.

McBish
2007-02-22, 04:15 PM
No your honor.

El Jaspero, the Pirate King
2007-02-22, 08:43 PM
"Very good. Graklok, you may step down. Kratos, have you any additional witnesses to call?"

Deus Mortus
2007-02-23, 12:07 AM
Yes your honor, I would like to call in Tinderhall, he is an expert in torture of all kinds.

El Jaspero, the Pirate King
2007-02-23, 06:31 AM
Judge Jaspero looks dubious. "A torture expert? On what grounds do you call this witness?"

Supagoof
2007-02-23, 03:07 PM
((The GUFIPOLICE do not exist. There is, however, the Town Police Force))

((SAY WHAT! :smallamused: The town police force is the gufipolice. They may have dropped the first part of the name since I was captain, but that doesn't change the fact that is was still the police force when I ran it.

Just because a buisness changes names, doesn't mean it's not longer liable for actions under the old name. Look up AT&T and Monopoly laws for details on that.

Sorry for the interuption Judge Jaspero, I shall leave, but I shall not let the police force say the gufipolice didn't exist!))

AmberVael
2007-02-23, 03:23 PM
((I was merely pointing out that I had changed the name. No more than that. I would prefer that people call it the "Town Police Force" from now on))

Graklok
2007-02-23, 04:24 PM
((Ah, okay, I can see that. My bad. Perhaps a PM or maybe the comment directed more to change the post would have been clearer.))

Otay, Graklok go back to ship.

Graklok gets down from the stand and leaves the building.

Deus Mortus
2007-02-23, 07:32 PM
Though the torture case has been dropped, Mr Tinderhall is still a leading expert on mental assault and torture, we want him to take stand so we can show that what Silas and Al the Mutt did was an assault.

El Jaspero, the Pirate King
2007-02-23, 08:06 PM
"This trial has already had more than its share of diversions. Barring an additional request from McBish, your call for this witness is denied. Do you have any other witnesses to call who actually have some bearing on this case?"

Deus Mortus
2007-02-24, 06:04 AM
Kratos sighs, I would like to call up Al the Mutt.

El Jaspero, the Pirate King
2007-02-24, 08:06 AM
Judge Jaspero nods. "This witness might at least tell us something about the case. Al, please come forward."

McBish
2007-02-24, 12:30 PM
Al steps foward and climbs into the stand.

El Jaspero, the Pirate King
2007-02-24, 02:28 PM
"Al, do you swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth by that which you hold sacred?"

McBish
2007-02-24, 02:29 PM
I do. Filler filler

El Jaspero, the Pirate King
2007-02-24, 02:32 PM
"Kratos, please proceed."

Deus Mortus
2007-02-25, 06:16 PM
Al, why did you investigate the demons?

McBish
2007-02-25, 06:18 PM
There were several reports about demons romaing the streets. I was the first to notice do to my pervious encounters with demons. I wanted to see what these demons were up to.

Deus Mortus
2007-02-25, 06:21 PM
When you arrived at the Cemetery, what did you see?

McBish
2007-02-25, 06:23 PM
20 or so demons digging up graves.

Deus Mortus
2007-02-25, 06:25 PM
Multiple graves or just one?

McBish
2007-02-25, 06:27 PM
Mutiple graves.

Deus Mortus
2007-02-25, 06:42 PM
At which point did you decide there was a crime going on?

McBish
2007-02-25, 06:47 PM
A crime at the cemetary? I didn't have the chance to.

Deus Mortus
2007-02-25, 07:00 PM
So if I understand correctly, you hadn't decided there was a crime going on?

McBish
2007-02-25, 07:04 PM
Not in the cemetary, no.

Deus Mortus
2007-02-25, 07:05 PM
Then on what ground did you order to arrest Lord Riddletuck?

McBish
2007-02-25, 07:06 PM
For interfering with a police investigation.

Deus Mortus
2007-02-25, 07:17 PM
Is the police allowed to enter private property with no permission of it's owner or a crime going on within it?

McBish
2007-02-25, 07:19 PM
Depends on if the property is within the public domain. Which every cemetary I have encountered is.

Deus Mortus
2007-02-25, 07:25 PM
Did you check if it was?

McBish
2007-02-25, 07:27 PM
No. I didn't have time.

Deus Mortus
2007-02-25, 07:35 PM
Why was there a rush?

McBish
2007-02-25, 07:37 PM
I was worried the Demons would move.

Deus Mortus
2007-02-25, 07:45 PM
When you encountered Lord Riddletuck he stated that "the situation was under control", why did you not investigate this further?

McBish
2007-02-25, 07:48 PM
Because seeing as this was my case and I wasn't about to wait around and let this guy let the demons get away.

Deus Mortus
2007-03-05, 02:14 PM
So there was currently no crime going on, you were told that the situation was under control and you did not find it necessary to take a moment to talk to the owner of the land you were on?

(Sorry for my absence, work caught up to me)

McBish
2007-03-05, 03:20 PM
At the time I was unaware that anyone had bought the cemetary.

Deus Mortus
2007-03-05, 03:42 PM
You did not know? That is odd, Riddletuck told you this as soon as he realised the situation, I don't remember you having hearing problems, nor any reasons why you shouldn't have heard this. So did you intentionally not hear it?

McBish
2007-03-05, 03:45 PM
I heard it, but was shown no proof. Also I gave him plently of time to explain. He didn't he simply told me to leave.

Deus Mortus
2007-03-05, 03:48 PM
You never asked about proof, is this normal routine in investigation, wait for an answer instead of asking for it?

McBish
2007-03-05, 03:51 PM
Your honor I object, what do these questions have to do with the case?

Deus Mortus
2007-03-05, 03:54 PM
Your honor, I am trying to show that the officer in question misconducted, to refute any claims that this was proper police work.

El Jaspero, the Pirate King
2007-03-05, 04:39 PM
"Objection denied, McBish. If this is Kratos' line of defense, he is free to pursue it."

McBish
2007-03-05, 05:06 PM
I wasn't investigating the ownership of the cemetary. It had nothing to do with my investigation.

Deus Mortus
2007-03-06, 07:10 AM
So you can simply do anything as long as it isn't what you are investigating?

McBish
2007-03-06, 08:59 AM
No, but when I first started watching the demons the cemetary wasn't owned by anyone besides the Town. And when this guy came up and told me I couldn't go deal with the demons it made me suspicious and a little angry. Why did he want to stop me?

Deus Mortus
2007-03-06, 11:44 AM
To avoid damage to the graves as he already told you, another thing you didn't hear?

Kyrian
2007-03-06, 01:19 PM
Silas sits back and scowls. What the hell? So his client doesn't want the police to damage any graves, yet doesn't mind the demons that are digging people up? What an idiot.

Deus Mortus
2007-03-06, 01:24 PM
((Is that thought or did you say it?))

El Jaspero, the Pirate King
2007-03-06, 06:41 PM
((Something in italics is typically a thought, not said aloud.))

Deus Mortus
2007-03-06, 07:26 PM
((Yeah but I wanted to make sure, since he says he scowls, if he does say it, Riddletuck can respond))

Kyrian
2007-03-14, 09:21 AM
((Le bump?))

Deus Mortus
2007-03-14, 01:25 PM
((Indeed, le bumpy))

McBish
2007-03-14, 10:17 PM
((Ok I swore I posted here before. My aplogies.))

I had no intention of damaging anything. And he had no real reason to suspect that I was.

Deus Mortus
2007-03-15, 07:50 AM
((Happened to me a few times to, no sweat))

Really? Then you were not going to fight them up close and had ranged weaponry with you?

McBish
2007-03-15, 11:40 AM
I didn't know I was going to fight anyone. I was there to question them. And maybe a fight might happen. And in my experiance ranged weapons tend to do more damage to the surrondings then hand to... paw combat.

Deus Mortus
2007-03-15, 02:38 PM
Kratos blinks, Are you saying one arrow through the head will do more damage then full out melee.

McBish
2007-03-15, 02:45 PM
I'd say one arrow through the head would do as much damage as a bite to the neck.

El Jaspero, the Pirate King
2007-03-15, 04:29 PM
Judge Jaspero rolls his eye. "Get to the point, Kratos. We all know there are multiple ways of killing people and demons."

Deus Mortus
2007-03-16, 09:47 AM
Kratos sighs, Very well your honor, I enjoy these wordplays, but I recognize they may last to long.

Al, in retrospect, do you think mistakes were made?

McBish
2007-03-16, 01:09 PM
Yes I do. Letting your client kill the demons.

Deus Mortus
2007-03-16, 08:18 PM
You mean to say that my client defending his property by using means which garantuee minimal damage is a mistake? Why is that?

McBish
2007-03-16, 11:05 PM
Wholesale murder generaly isn't a good thing.

Deus Mortus
2007-03-18, 07:41 PM
You are now accusing my client of murder?

McBish
2007-03-18, 07:44 PM
Not at the moment no. But it could be seen that way by some.

Deus Mortus
2007-03-18, 08:00 PM
Now from how I see it, you have made many mistakes and although you skillfully dodge them, I still see them as being made and don't think an officer as experienced as you would make them, so was there anything about this specific case that irked you?

McBish
2007-03-18, 08:02 PM
Besides your client?

Deus Mortus
2007-03-18, 08:02 PM
What about my client?

McBish
2007-03-18, 08:04 PM
He irked me.

Deus Mortus
2007-03-18, 08:09 PM
So all of your threatening and thinly veiled aggressiveness was out of personal spite again my client, I have no more questions.

McBish
2007-03-18, 08:11 PM
Your honor I object. My client never said that.

Deus Mortus
2007-03-18, 08:18 PM
I asked your client what the reason was why mistakes were made and your client told me that it was my client Lord Riddletuck, it seems pretty obvious to me.

McBish
2007-03-18, 08:20 PM
No you asked if something about this case irked me. And that is the question I anwsered.

Deus Mortus
2007-03-18, 08:23 PM
Kratos sighs, Like I said no further questions.

El Jaspero, the Pirate King

Judge Jaspero bangs his gavel. "Until all parties can return to this courtroom, this trial is placed on hold indefinitely."
