The goal here is to build a still-viable Wizard who bans as many schools as possible. So far, I'm at:

Master Specialist (ban 3)
Red Wizard (ban 1)

For a total of 4 schools banned (Enchantment, Evocation, Necromancy, and either Illusion or Abjuration).

Incantatrix bans another IIRC.

And Incantatrix cannot ban abjuration, which would mean that you would HAVE to ban either Conjuration or Transmutation.

IIRC Incantatrix has a clause that only prevents you from leaning new spells from your banned school, so in theory you could buy and scribe all the spells you want from either conjuration or transmutation you want/need prior to taking your first incantatrix level so you can use them late.

I think ya mean focused specialist

The magic of faerun version has that clause, but the much more powerful 3.5 version, from players guide to faerun, does not have it.

Damn... oh well there goes that idea.

Changeling Focused Specialist Red Wizard, with the Changeling Wizard substitution level. You ban 4 right off the bat, and a 5th when you enter Red Wizard.

Done right, this leaves you with Transmutation, Illusion, and Divination. And it's still a viable build.

Edit: Oh right, Universal. That kinda screws things up...

You guys are being quite silly. Be a focused specialist wizard 3, master specialist 3, incantatrix 7, Mage of the arcane order 7.
You ban 4 schools, leaving you with Conjuration, abjuration, transmutation, divination, and universal. And then you use MOTAO to spellpool all your high level specialist slots with any spellpool spell you want. Spell pool requires you to pay it back, so you pay them with your low level specialist slots.

End result: 4 banned schools, +3 spells to every level, but access to every arcane spell in the game. Did I forget to mention you're a metamagic monster?

Big Fau, if Incantatrix is taken before Read Wizard, couldn't Red Wizard be used to ban Abjuration and net an additional school banned?

Actually, mage of the arcane order specifies that the spellpool can only grant you spells from the PHB, and only from the sorc/wiz spell list, so hardly every arcane spell in the game.

I was going to cite the Restricted Sorcery flaw from Dragon #327, but then I checked and it only lets you ban schools as a spontaneous spellcaster.

(I do have a DM who let me take that flaw three times, banning everything but Conjuration and Divination, but there's at least two reasons that's not permissible by RAW.)

Actually, you're restricted to the PHB and whatever spells your DM designates. That's not an actual weakness.
I would have focused on the fact that you can only cast spells equal to 1/2 your caster level in totality, which really puts a damper on things and the full round casting. Alternately, you could rain on people's parades by nitpicking the "normally cast" clause as narrowly as possible. Personally, the only losses are the low-mid level stuff in necromancy, contingency from evocation(and the force spells), the defensive illusion spells will be missed alongside the shadowmagic line. Enchantment is only missing sleep and dominate spell line. Based on the restrictions, MOTAO is best for casting defensive mid level buffs, and then paid back with lvl 1-2 spells. EG, cast some contingency, pay back with two lvl1 specialist slots, and two lvl2 specialist slots to cast a lvl 6 contingency from a banned school.
