Are there any PrCs dedicated to slaying undead, that don't require undead turning and/or spellcasting to enter?

There are none that I am aware of, but I'm willing to look at 3rd party, or quality homebrew.

Cheers - T

Illumine Soul Except not because it's pretty terrible...

Not sure about any others off the top of my head. Good luck in the search.

This is not *exactly* what you're looking for but one could make an argument that it comes close. Page 175 of the DMG under the heading 'Creating New Classes' lists an example of a modified ranger specialized in undead-slaying. A brief summary of the modifications include:

- Favored enemy vs undead only but it increases at double rate

- Rogue sneak attack progression, but *only* usable vs undead

- All ranger spells removed except those granting stealth, level-appropriate anti-undead spells added.

- Paladin smite evil progression, usable only vs. undead

Since this is a specifically listed example rather than something you came up with yourself you might have better luck getting it past a homebrew-wary DM. Best of all it's a base class, not a PRC, so you wouldn't need to worry about entry requirements.

the master of radiance (libris mortis) has some stuff against undead, but i don't know if it's any good or not.

However, it does not require turn undead to get into, but it's level stack with anything that does give turning to determine your turning, meaning that (unless your DM rules against this) you can use it to give your favoured soul turning. (Though you have to look at its skills requirements, which probably need knowledge devotion to get into, + it loses 1 caster level, so just dipping your favoured soul with a cleric level is still easier.)

Stalker of Karash (Book of Exalted Deeds) fits. It progresses ranger spellcasting but doesn't require having it. It isn't a 'undead slayer' per se but a more general 'evil slayer'.

Favored Enemy can be optimized to be quite efficient with feats like Nemesis (BoED), Favored Power Attack (CW), Improved Favored Enemy (CW), Wise to Your Ways (Ghostwalk) and the favored enemy-related feats from dragon magine #335.

In addition the Ranger acf Solitary Hunter (Dragon Magazine #347), the 6th Shadow Sword Ranger substitution level (Champions of Valor) and, maybe, the Ranger's Strong-Arm combat style (Dragon Magazine #326) could also benefit such a character.

Anything that gets access to the Druid spell list at a full caster level (Druid, Spirit Shaman, Archivist, etc.) and use Bone Talisman (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/mb/20040721a).

Put Unguent of Timelessness on a bunch of Turning spell foci, time will pass 365 times slower for them so its duration will be increased by that much (to almost 61 hours per caster level). The spell foci can be reused indefinitely, and the unguent never wears off. You can even use a Lesser Metamagic Rod of Extend when casting it. Get a standard Strand of Prayer Beads that's had the Bead of Smiting removed, it should cost only 9,000 gp per DMG pricing. Use the Bead of Karma before casting that to increase the duration and magnitude.

Make sure the spell foci have a hole through each one, and thread them onto a loop of string or leather. Have them numbered or colored so you can keep track of them. Have them arrange from longest remaining duration to shortest remaining duration. When you cast it on one, move that one around the loop to the end with the longest duration. When you use one, always use them from the shortest duration end, and then put a used one on a twist in the loop to keep it separate. If it's hanging from your belt as a weaponlike object you can grab it as a move-action and activate one with a standard action.

The Skullclan Hunter does need Turn Undead to enter (even if the class doesn't use it at all or advance it :smallannoyed:), but it doesn't need (or advance) casting. It does give a ton of undead immunities and the ability to sneak attack undead, though, so it's useful for rogues who dipped cloistered cleric or something.

Limited ability to turn undead can be gained through the planer touchstone feat (CoE) for the SUN domain.

The Bone Collector and Ghost Slayer from Ghostwalk are two that do not require turn undead, though both are not that impressive.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

There's some decent feats in Libris Mortis too: Ghost Scarred, Necropotent and Vampire Hunter.
