... what do?

In our campaign we're using 3d6+4 drop lowest for our stats, and I got:

15 ; 11 ; 14 ; 14 ; 16 ; 15

It's a mid op campaign, with a load of newbies with tier 1's and 2's, and old hands with lower tiers; but since they are getting more used to things the old hands are switching up. I'm currently running a Psion but I'm addicted to character creation so making my next guy now ;). I rolled for stats, and above is what I got. I'm curious what the playground can come up with to use them. We're allowed everything that isn't dragon magazine, but the rules are "common sense" modified. An example would be, drowning does not in fact heal you ;). It's generally pretty standard though, think the better side of GM customization.

We're currently 7th level. I'd like a character that works well at this level, and has room to grow.

So what can make best use of all around good stats? I'm curious if there is a MAD class or build which can come into its own with this. :)

Question: Did you count the 4 as a die for purposes of the drop? Otherwise, the max was 16...

Those stats, while good, aren't amazing (by my standard, at least :smallwink:). I'd say play something pretty MAD, because you don't often get the chance. Maybe a monk...

Or play something unusual, like a fighter warblade with high charisma.

Warlocks are fun, they get nice tricks and don't need fancy stats, but Dex and Cha are good.

Stats don't inform class choice as much as you'd think they would, so you can pretty much do whatever it is you would have done otherwise. I'd go with a druid, with the 11 in strength.

The max was indeed 16, which may help to explain why I was so happy with the result ;)

My first choice is usually an arcane gish:
Silverbrow Human or Naenhoon Illumian, Paladin 2/ Sorcerer 4/ Spellsword 1, future levels Abjurant Champion 5/ Sacred Exorcist 8; Str 15, Dex 14, Con 15, Int 14, Wis 11, Cha 16; 4th level +1 Con, all the rest in Cha. Silverbrow Human goes with Harmonious Knight (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/we/20060327a), Dragonfire Inspiration, Melodic Casting, a Badge of Valor, and the Dragonblood Sorcerer 1 sub level for Sonic damage. Illumian can Naenhoon Persist spells at level 13 if you expect to play that long.
or
Human, Human Paragon 1/ Fighter 1/ Wizard 2/ Human Paragon 2/ Spellsword 1, future levels Abjurant Champion 5/ Incantatrix 4/ Eldritch Knight 4; Str 15, Dex 14, Con 15, Int 16, Wis 11, Cha 14; Human Paragon +2 into Int; 4th level +1 Con, all the rest in Int. This Wizard variant (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/classes/variantCharacterClasses.htm#wizard) from UA, either Domain Wizard (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/classes/variantCharacterClasses.htm#wizardVariantDomainWiz ard) or Conjurer with Abrupt Jaunt.
In either case you want Power Attack, Practiced Spellcaster, and Minor Shapeshift at the very least.

For such well-rounded stats, you can't really go wrong with a LN Human Cleric of Zarus (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ex/20041203a&page=1): Cleric 6/ Divine Oracle 4/ Contemplative 10, get the feat prerequisite for Divine Oracle via the Frog God's Fane in CS. Middle-age Str 14, Dex 10, Con 14, Int 15, Wis 17, Cha 15; all level-ups into Wis. Strength and War domains starting out, trade the Strength domain's granted power for Divine Restoration from Dungeonscape. Get the Oracle, Law, and Destiny domains from your prestige classes. Use DMM: Persist with buffs like Divine Power, Mass Lesser Vigor, and later Righteous Wrath of the Faithful and Choose Destiny. Take Extra Turning and Power Attack. Wear full plate armor and get a Lesser Metamagic Rod of Extend, a Reliquary Holy Symbol, and a Night Stick.

You can't go wrong with a fear build (http://brilliantgameologists.com/boards/index.php?topic=3809.0). Go with this build (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=252815#4), Necropolitan is optional and it can be any nonlawful alignment.

Ooh. Those are some hot psychic warrior numbers. You can put the 16 in Wis and basically ignore it for the rest of the game (unless you really need.to buff you save).

There's always that lovely little number, the Duskblade. 15 Intelligence and you're golden!

Here (http://dictummortuum.blogspot.com/2011/08/duskblade-handbook.html) is a nifty keen handbook to help you out!(If you do in fact choose to play one of course:smallbiggrin:)
