I'm going to be making a character and need a build and idea for spells for this guy. I'll be playing an elf wizard and can only pick from PHB, PHB 2, expanded psionic handbook, and the complete warrior, and well the DMG ofc. I want to do more support spells which is why I will probably focus more in transmutation, but also want to do a little evoking for some damage spells. The other plays I know are going to be a psionic and rogue, the other players wont say until we start playing. So I need help with a build to go with and some spell ideas, not sure if this matters but we will be starting out at level 1.

This is a monstrous question. I'd just refer to established handbooks and look at their spells that are only PHB:

If I may add:

Dictum Mortuum's one (http://dictummortuum.blogspot.com/2011/09/wizards-handbook-part-one-attributes.html)

The Handbook Index (http://www.minmaxboards.com/index.php?PHPSESSID=skifnivd54dv5g3ll4j1n3rqb4&topic=399.0)

The Beginner's Handbook (http://www.minmaxboards.com/index.php?topic=9479.msg153181#msg153181)

Note that most of the most powerful and versatile spells are in the SRD. So, by limiting you to those books (the ones he owns, i presume) your DM is not diminishing your power or your abilities to support the party.

The aforementioned Treantmonk's handbook include a comprehensive list of the most useful spell of each school.

Anyway, you'll want of course to focus on Transmutation and conjuration. Blasting is considered subpar, because in actuality, it's less useful and powerful than buffing and BFC. It's been calculated many times that a Haste end up doing much more damage than a Fireball, for the same spell slot and has the side advantage not to let the warriors feel useless.

Ask your DM to use Domain Wizard, it's in the SRD (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/classes/variantCharacterClasses.htm#wizardVariantDomainWiz ard). Else, go for a Transmutation specialist, maybe even using the Transmuter variant (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/classes/specialistWizardVariants.htm#transmuterVariants). This two variant are not in the allowed books, it's UA, but since it's available online, your DM may allow it.

Drop Enchantment and Necromancy, since you want to keep Evocation, or you can also be a Diviner and drop Enchantment or Necromancy only.

Given the books available to you, there not many PrC interesting. You'll probably be stuck with Loremaster (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/prestigeClasses/loremaster.htm) and Archmage (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/prestigeClasses/archmage.htm). The several handbooks we pointed out can tell you more about them.

You can also look at my build thread: http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=319311

And Kraken's build thread (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showpost.php?p=16739386&postcount=11)

Both of which have full 20 level builds for core-only wizards and a bunch of notes on what spells, items, feats, etc. you might want.
