Just like the title says, I have been thinking about a Final Fantasy based system for what seems like years. I eventually worked on it some, then found a website that completely blew me out of the water. Basically, I was wanting to share the love with my fellow gamers, but also get their opinions on the system.

Anyways, never played it, but I have a particular interest in Returner's Final Fantasy system simply because of how well it mimics how traditional Final Fantasy games played. Never liked that the abilities you got were called the same things as a lot of old Final Fantasy character's special moves. Made the system feel less unique, but a lot more balanced way of handling things as it made melee and mages about the same.

But from what I gather in this, this has a lot of the same mechanics as DnD and probably a lot of the same problems of casters outshining melee characters, which in a Final Fantasy world doesn't make sense since the most powerful people in the Final Fantasy world normally wield blades, not staffs.

Final Fantasy systems are a mixed bag in the end.
