I there! I came up with an idea for a magical item in my Pathfinder game, which I think might be quite fun. I thought to share it, and see what you folks can do with it, what sort of ideas, and what sort of tracks (Will be explained)
The idea is that bardic music can be contained, somewhat liek a potion contains spells. The song spheres are crystaline spheres, that hold magical music (Be it bardic performance or whatever is suitable for your system and campaign). If crushed, the song is released, and it's effects are made real for a certain time.
But, when you activate the song sphere, you (DM or player) needs to play out the song in the sphere, as appropriate. Some groups may have the time of the spehre measured in the world's time units, other can just make it till the end of the song, or such.
I think it could bring a fresh spirit to a session. What do you think?
What music will be in YOUR Song Sphere?
Here is an example or two, from a group we know quite well:
my favorite epic battle song of all time- To Glory! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d2hRTLdvdnk&noredirect=1)
Another good one, for tense moments (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6O6Q1OiF6LI&noredirect=1)
Invoking the dragon-man! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7CqgRLmZ_w&noredirect=1):smalltongue:
