I'm considering building a fiend-blooded from heroes of horror. Its best features by far is its fiendish sorcery ability. this lets you add one spell at your highest lvl known as long as it's illusion, enchantment, necromancy, or has the [fire] descriptor. it can come from any list.

after some searching, I figure that timing my fiend-blooded levels to give a 5, 6, and 7 is best since the spells above that are not that useful (weird, mass charm monster, PWK, etc) or too strong for actual play (simulacrum, ice assassin, etc) and the spells at lower levels are sort of mediocre.

the spells that seemed good to me were:

7th: avasculate
6th: kyristan's malevolent tentacles
5th: pronouncement of fate*

it is a 4th, via spite domain, but it seemed more interesting than the available 5ths.

entrywise, I was thinking beguiler. I'm probably only taking 6 lvls of fiend-blooded, filling out the rest of my lvls with wild soul (unseelie path) to get more spells known:

beg5/ws4/fb6/ws9

what other spells might be good/better for fiendish sorcery?
