Say we have an elf. And they breed with a half-celestial elf. Do we get a half-celestial elf? An Aasimar? An elf? How do you adjudicate it? Is it said... Somewhere... Anywhere?

And yes, it's FR, because it's the only setting I can be a player, not a DM in. :smallsigh:

I'm pretty sure you wouldn't get an Elf. A good rule of thumb I use for bloodlines is what the United States does with Native Americans. As long as they still have 1/16 of Native American blood, they are still considered Native American.

In 2nd edition, Monte Cook pretty much made Half-Celestials and Aasimars the same thing, but separated them in 3rd Edition Monster Manual.
It follows:
Half-Celestial: 1st Generation of half-breed
Aasimar: Planetouched - The blood is somewhere in their background.

Thus, you would have an Aasimar. You might have to dig to find it as a template though, as the default is Human.
