I finally watched it, after having wanted to for years as it was in movie purgatory.
Anyhoo, I tried very hard to not raise my expectations over these years, steadying myself for the inevitable let down of that would follow such hype.
It's a funny movie, fairly innocuous and adequately put together.
Peter Dinklage has the best lines, Zahn is a bit too over the top in his mannerisms and antics, character development is at a bare minimum.. and the CGI and monster costumes show that it really was done on a shoestring budget.
From what I've read on the internet, it was probably harmed quite a bit by amateurish editing.
That said, all things considered, I had fun despite having never larped in my life, but won't be putting it on the shelf with fantasy classics any time soon.
