When you ban the additional school at Level 1 do you lose access to known spells of that school? I was looking at 3.0 version which allows you to basically become a second specialist and keep the spells but it seems the 3.5 version may not include this feature. What exactly happens if say I took Invisibility, Silent Image, and Invisibility Sphere by level five and then banned Illusion when I took Incantatrix at 6?

I would think that you just lose the ability to cast those spells. The 3.5 version is better though, even with that deficit.

Spells of the prohibited school or schools are not available to the wizard, and she can’t even cast such spells from scrolls or fire them from wands. She may not change either her specialization or her prohibited schools later.

RAW you can cast those spells. Nowhere in the rules does it say you cannot cast spells from a banned school, it just says you cannot cast from scrolls wands, and they are not available to learn. Ultimately, it is up to your DM, as some DMs cannot stomach RAW.

You're adding words. It does not say those spells are not available to learn, it simply says they're not available. That means the spells themselves from that entire school of magic are not available at all, whether to learn, prepare, cast, or even look up in the PHB. You don't get those spells for any reason whatsoever, because they're not available.
