Looking for Melee Prestige Classes for sword+board

Are there any good 3.5 or pathfinder prestige classes that are either designed specifically for or work really well with a sword and board type character. (one-handed and shield using for those who don't get the sword and board reference)

For 3.5, I think Tome of Battle is probably best at S&B, giving you things to boost your sword that don't care about twohanding and also some maneuvers you can use with your shield. If you absolutely need a PrC rather than a multiclass... well, there are maneuver-advancing PrCs?

In Champions of Ruin there is the Vengeance Knight. He gets some good ACP reduction for heavy armour and shields. Gets Improved shield bash on 2nd lvl.

Alignment is LE, LN, NE. Preq are Iron Will and weapon focus(any sword)

Its also has an RP value tagged onto it since its a faction thing.

Also just plain old Knight is good for a melee shield build.
