Would be possible to enchant a weapon to cast harm on strike a few time a day. Making a backup char that's either going to be a knight or a centaur to carry one.

The enchantment Spell Storing is limited to 3rd level.

Maybe you can create a more powerful version of that enchantment?

I'm pretty sure that there isn't anything like this in an existing book, so you're well into the realm of DM fiat. Spell Storing only allows spells up to 3rd level, and you would need somebody to recast the spell into the weapon every time you used it. Even an intelligent item's special purpose powers doesn't have anything as powerful as a 1/day Harm spell.

Its for later on.

Going by the custom magic item creation rules, what you want is use-activated. That's 2000 gp times spell level 6 times caster level 11, divided by 5 because it's once per day. Total cost 26400 gp.

To be able to use it 3 times/day... anywhere from 47k to 65k depending on weapon and enchantment strength.

It'd be a custom magic item, of course.

[also, the word 'fiat' always sounds so negative to my ears]

That is most non-heinous.

Keep in mind most if not all on-hit effects trigger after the weapon has dealt damage, so you can't stab a dude, harm him, and then deal your weapon damage for a quick kill.

While I see your point, why would anyone care about the order of damage?

harm cannot reduce the target's hp to less than 1

Why? There are no negative connotations. :smallconfused:

If spell triggers between strike and weapon damage, then we have the following scenario:

Person hits
triggers harm, puts target at 5 HP
weapon damage triggers, for another 2d6+3
target drops to negatives and is dying

But since we can't do that, wend up with this scenario instead:

Person hits
weapon damage triggers for 2d6+3
triggers harm, drops target to minimum 1 HP
target is still alive but extremely fragile

tl;dr you can't use harm as a cheap [Death] effect or skirt death effect immunity with it.

Only if the target saves. Otherwise it definitely CAN kill.

Well, sure, but you still can't use it as like, advanced insurance.

True... hmm... I wonder if battlebarbs would take effect before or after the energy effect....

Three levels of Ordained Champion (CC) gets you Channel Spell, which means you can expend one spell to store it in your weapon. It does require a Cleric base, though.

This sounds like it's well within the remit of an Intelligent Item — Special Purpose Item Dedicated Powers. It's not one of the listed options, but the cost would seem to be quite high (I'm still trying to work out the costing method for these, but it's probably around 100,000 gp).
