Here is a list of dire animals I've compiled for my own purposes.

Phynxkin are magic beast not dire animal iirc. In one book there is a dire template. Can't remember which one.

Dire Hippopotamus, Jackal, Puma, Tortoise and Vulture are in Sandstorm
Dire Barracuda and Eel are in Stormwrack - you have them as IWO and I don't know what that is - they are in Stormwrack for sure though.

Frostburn is more complicated, under "Dire Animal" the following are listed:
Dire Polar Bear
Glyptodon
Megaloceros
Smilodon (Sabre-Toothed Tiger)
Woolly Mammoth
Zeuglodon

So, RAW, a Smilodon is a Dire Animal in its own right...

Edit - of course, IWO is "It's Wet Outside", yes that is a common nickname for Stormwrack, but just as initials in a table like that you are going to confuse people.
