Hey All,

I just have a general question about the spell Awaken. It states that when it is used on an animal, the animal gains 2HD. Now, are these 2HD level advancements as per the animal companion advancement chart, or are they monster advancement, since the animal now ceases to be an animal? Or are they simply the animal gaining two more rolls for HP?

If cast on a lvl 5 tiger animal companion, would the tiger then jump ahead to lvl 7 and go through the lvl 7 advancement (size, special abilities, etc.), and then be a sentient/intelligent member of society?

A monster, because animal companions cease being animal companions when awakened.

So would a tiger still go through the "7th level advancement?" Or, is that only for animal companions?
