Hey guys, got a small challenge for you.
I was bored and on Tumblr and saw this (http://24.media.tumblr.com/e7335f01f959c3b185186aa3f376c547/tumblr_mzzbr7Zhlc1qm14y4o1_500.jpg) and I thought it was great. I cracked open my SS to see what I could do about it, but my optimizing muscles are going unused and have begun to atrophy. Anyone wanna help me out?

Well, the Aberrant Limbs NPC ability (DMG2 p.158) can give a human an extra set of arms or legs, although I can't imagine either ending looking like that pic - he has an extra set of arms, but is using them as legs...

Perhaps Aberrant Limbs (legs) with some kind of hands grafted on to the extra legs instead of feet?

Could ape arms count as legs for the purposes of tauric?

I did consider that.

Sleeping must be awkward as hell for the Manataur. I wonder what that thing's bed looks like.

The beds are little boxes. The main body curls up in fetal position and slots inside the box, the top torso stays upright. Honestly how are centaurs supposed to sleep?

My bad, it could totally sleep on its side.

I would imagine something like this:

http://fc07.deviantart.net/fs20/f/2007/230/5/a/300_Horsepower_by_AdnamaLavode.png

More like the equine counterpart to Minotaurs. For you imagination, I can't think about a reason why this creature should have 2 legs and 2 "handlegs". I know evolution plays no role in the creation of mythical monsters but wouldn't the front legs be humanoid legs instead of hands, too?

Sir that is not the point.

EDIT: WAITAMINUTE LOOKING AT THE MANATAUR JUST MADE ME THINK.
He has two ribcages. DO CENTAURS HAVE TWO HEARTS?

This sounds like you need the Tauric Template (http://www.realmshelps.net/monsters/templates/tauric.shtml). However, you need a creature with at least 4 legs for it to work, and it has to be a beast, animal, or vermin, so you can't use a humanoid. The Ape or similar simian might work.

Huh, I was gonna crack down on you and be like "Gosh I'm not that dumb of course I've looked at the Tauric and Symbiotic templates. I even said so in the OP!" Then I looked and realized that this specific OP (the page reloaded on me a couple times and I lost my writing) didn't have that info. Carry on.

We had a thread about this a few months ago IIRC. I would dig it up, but I really ought to get to bed.

I think I know what my next Eidolon is going to look like

Also, I really want to combine beartaur with drop-bears. It would be like an unholy mix between cloakers, spiders, and bears.

I will be honest, when I first saw the title of this thread, I figured you were trying to recreate this.

Alright shakey idea. Symbiotic Halfling + Neanderthal Half-Minotaur/Half Ogre Effigy. Assuming that after Incarnate Construct turns it into a real boy it gets the effective LA it had before it was an effigy, it's LA 0, and IC also removed the special ability for the Symbiont to separate, making it more of a whole being, instead of 2 taped together.

I really like your stitched together symbiotic monster plan. You real should show up to a table with it and freak out the other players

Mm. It fits the "almost beautiful but also slightly disturbing" look that comes with the manataur from my OP.

I'm just saying if you play it, you got a character portrait already drawn up...

The question now is what type of character to play. Scout maybe? Druid? Totemist?

I was thinking psychic warrior tashalatora but Totemist basically fits the idea also. Grow additional natural attacks and bite, claw, slam and punch your way to victory.

Edit: oh oh oh! I just thought of a new name for what that creature should be called!!! The Human-centi-taur

Ooh current idea for Humancentitaur is for it to use that fantastic ranged grappler build that Piggy Knowles most recently added to his thread.

First off, thank you for posting that link. There's a load of good info there and I totally bookmarked it.

Second, that build sounds awesome for the humancentitaur. Its so horrific and awesome and interesting and unexpected.

Third, with this build your character's battle cry can be, " I put the MAN in Manticore!" Then he fires a volley of tentacle spikes from his belt.

Right back at ya.

I'm actually really happy you linked the picture this thread is based on. I tend to draw pictures of important npcs in campaigns I run to show to my players and often I'll take pictures that inspire me and modify them slightly to fit what I need.

I'm currently running a campaign where any spell that attempts planar travel, even teleport, reroutes the caster through the far realm, modifies their bodies or minds, then dump them back onto the material plane.

I've got an antagonistic earth genasi cleric of magic that escaped from being killed by the party by teleporting and I've been trying to figure out what changes I want to add to him. I'm totally gonna take the humancentitaur picture and replace the top arms with tentacles then add oriface like organs running down the torso like the picture of the pseudonatural creature template has. Instant far realm horror. I think he'll have just enough humanoid physical traits left to freak the hell outa my party.
