Bringing outsiders and Elementals back from the dead

Ok, so 3.5 rules say that you can bring an outsider or elemental back from the dead with a limited wish, wish, miracle or true resurrection. It says nothing about how these spells bring them back from the dead though. Do they all function the same (acting as a true resurrect, with some obviously superior options)? Do they result in a level loss? It doesn't say that they do, and since the spells that result in level loss upon resurrection aren't usable on them, does that mean that outsiders and elementals don't lose levels/con upon being raised with those spells? How much HP do they come back on? What about lost spells argh :smallmad: It's so unclear.

If it helps, the Spell Compendium has Revive Outsider. It works like Raise Dead, except the outsider can only have as many HD as your level (not clear if character level or caster level) and it doesn't matter when it died.

I was more wondering how the above spells interacted with creatures as resurrection abilities, not so much for alternate resurrection methods.

Without language to the contrary, I'd assume it works the same as wishing any other creature back to life.

the problem with that is that wish says it brings people back from the dead by replicating a resurrection spell, which wouldnt work on outsiders/elementals

Wishing to bring an Outsider back from the dead isn't replicating Resurrection - it's a special use of the Wish spell. There's nothing saying it results in level loss, so it doesn't.

There are plenty of things that say a Wish can remove them that aren't listed in the spell description of Wish itself and don't involve replicating another spell.
