9th level character will be level 11 by next week. My wizard died and the party is getting changed around a bit so I'm lost on what to play.

1. Human barbarian
2. Elf Ranger/Scout (was cleric) Archer
3. Halfling Bard
4. Some type of wizard not sure what yet

5. so what should I be most books are ok and I'm good with different ideas. My stats are 18 18 16 16 14 11. No Dragon magazines, creative is good, can not play evil. I need some help cause I'm just stuck. I was making up a scout until I found out the cleric was changing his guy out for the ranger/scout. About half of them are pretty serious min/max well 3/4. What the heck should I play?

9th level. But by next week it will be up to level 11 so if you have prestige class or multiclass suggestion i'm up for it.

2 levels in a week? You guys must play a lot!

Seems to me your party needs some Divine magic.

Well actually we have been doing a dunegon crawl and went up against some tough monsters we were a 100 points shy of 10th level when we started. Our dm wont level people level up until we get to a town and rest for 10 days so now it's 21 days.

Divine magic what? The wizard was the first magic user I played for 3.5 in the 8 years I've been playing it. (I don't count Warlocks as real magic users) Normally I've stuck to Warlocks, Rogues, Some fighters.

Heh... So you'll actually get some downtime, even.

Well, it's hard to go wrong with Cleric. If you do mostly straight dungeon crawls you probably can even take a bad RP god.

That's what my dm suggested since the old one is getting rid of his cleric. I just don't know anything about them beyond They can use armor, and heal. Base attack bonus is not as high as a fighters.

Basically: Clerics are fantastic self and group buffers, leaders, melee combatants, tanks, archers (when built for it) and characters with a huge amount of variety and versatility. They also heal people out of combat with cheap wands.

They can also influence undead and get some pretty cool spells. Alternatively, you may prefer the Druid for their Wild Shape ability or the Archivist for their Wizard-like mechanics.

I'm looking at it and to tell you the truth I'm getting a bit confused at parts. Bascially I get 2 domains based on my god but I can trade those spells for the feat?

1.) Who says you have to follow a god? Follow an Ideal, and pick whatever domains you want
2.) If they are a particular set of domains, you can trade them for Devotions (a specialized type of feat), if those Devotions exist for that domain. Those are in Complete Champion
3.) Cloistered Clerics get two domains and Knowledge Domain as well...all three of which can be traded out for devotions

LN Human Cleric of Zarus (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ex/20041203a&page=1), plan to go Cleric 6/ Divine Oracle 4/ Contemplative 10, and say he visited the Frog God's Fane in CS to get the feat prerequisite for Divine Oracle without spending a feat on it. Domains should be Law and War, and get the Oracle domain, Law or Strength Devotion, and Destiny domain from your prestige classes. Use the Spontaneous Divination ACF in PH2 for the War domain, and get the Divine Restoration ACF in Dungeonscape instead of the Law domain's granted power. Str 18, Dex 11, Con 16, Int 14, Wis 18, Cha 16 starting out, 4th level boosts Dex then everything else goes into Wis.

Take two flaws (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/buildingCharacters/characterFlaws.htm) (Murky-Eyed and Weak-Willed) for two extra feats. Start with Extend Spell, Persistent Spell, DMM: Persistent, Able Learner, Power Attack, Extra Turning, and Craft Rod. Pick up Holy Warrior, Quicken Spell, and DMM: Quicken as you gain levels. Put max ranks into Kn: Religion and Concentration, try to have 5 ranks in Balance and other synergy skills, and the rest can go into Heal and/or Spellcraft and/or Knowledge skills.

You'll start out able to make Nightsticks from Libris Mortis, so start out with two of them plus a Reliquary Holy Symbol to have enough Rebuke uses when you cast Eagle's Splendor to DMM:Persist Mass Lesser Vigor, Divine Power, and Righteous Wrath of the Faithful. Get a standard Strand of Prayer Beads that's had the Bead of Smiting removed, per DMG pricing it only costs 9,000 gp, and you can use the Bead of Karma to boost your caster level when buffing. Also craft at least one Lesser Metamagic Rod of Extend for buffs like Magic Vestment, but cast Extended Greater Magic Weapon normally. Get a +1 Animated Heavy Shield, Masterwork Full Plate with a Restful Crystal, and a Masterwork Greatsword, plus secondary weapons (Spiked Gauntlet). Cast Greater/Superior Resistance every day, along with whatever other hour/level or 24-hour buffs you can find. Consider a Handy Haversack or any number of items from this list (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=187851) with what you have remaining.

Buffed your AC and attacks will look as follows:
AC 27 (+11 armor, +5 shield, +1 Dex), or 30 with Shield of Faith.
+3 Greatsword +23/+23/+18 melee, 2d6+16, 19-20/x2, with +2 damage per -1 to hit from Power Attack.
Plus everyone in the party will benefit from Mass Lesser Vigor (Fast Healing 1) and Righteous Wrath of the Faithful (extra attack when full attacking per Haste, +3 morale bonus to melee attack and damage rolls).

Clerics can do everything with one decent stat. Whatever you decide to do, make it a cleric.

I would like to put my vote in for either Archivist or psion.

The archivist is basically Indiana Jones but he casts spell like a champ.

The psion is one of my favorite classes and is an incredibly fun and intuitive caster. It probably the best put together spontaneous caster mechanically in all of 3.5

With this kind of rolls, you can play anything, evenvery MAD classes. You could play a Favoured Soul / (PrC) Paladin for example since your party could use a second melee specialist and a divine caster. A cleric would do, as previously said, but cleric always do. You could play a factotum, or a beguiler your party could use a skill monkey too. An artificer would do a pretty good skill monkey also.

Dragon Mag are out, but is the Dragon Compendium too? Because if you want some originality, there is the Sha'Ir, a class i like particulary, and you can go Geomancer with it. Not the most powerful combo, but certainly unusual.
