Is there such a race? If so what is the name?

You could create them using the tauric template. Call them the Deerpataur.

Seems awfully specific... what would make it different from regular centaur, crunch wise?

Though not an exact match, there is the hybsil from Monsters of Faerun.

They are described as fey with the body and hindquarters of an antelope but they have antlers like a deer.

That was my first thought when I saw the thread title.

I didn't know if 3.5 had one but I seem to remember 1st edition having one. I can't remember the name.

Hehe I was trying to be kinda a little subtle.

Sproink? Use Tauric Creature (MM2, SS) to combine a Deer (Silver Marches, medium size, 2 HD, Str 11, Dex 14, Con 9, +2 natural armor, 60 ft., 2 hooves 1d2, good Fort and Reflex, class skills Hide, Listen, Spot) with any small or medium size humanoid race (Human for feat/skills, Human Paragon gives good Will so Human HD should as well) to get the following:

Medium Monstrous Humanoid
Darkvision 60 ft. due to creature type.
3d8 racial HD, +3 BAB, Fort +3, Reflex +3, Will +3, (3+Int)x6 skill points, two feats for levels plus the Human feat. Class skills are Hide, Listen, and Spot.
Dex +4, Con -2
+2 natural armor
60 ft. base land speed
Natural attacks 2 hooves 1d2+Str primary, or -5 to hit and half Str to damage as a secondary attack.
LA +3

You may consider refluffing the bariaur, from the Planar Handbook. It's good for LA, and it fits fairly well mechanically, I think.

Bariaur are a lot more goat people. Hybsil are definitely an elf-deer centaur type, though.

After looking it up, I'll agree that Hybsil should be what you're looking for, they're small size but only 1 HD of Fey with a +3 LA. Note the update in the PGtF web enhancement gives them Dodge and Mobility as bonus feats, and Weapon Finesse as their 1 HD feat. However, like many other fey with Weapon Finesse they lack the BAB to qualify for it. The MM errata gave all such creatures that as a bonus feat when they didn't qualify for it, and a +2/+2 skill feat like Alertness or Stealthy as their 1 HD feat.

A Hybsil gets 50 ft. speed, +2 natural armor, Str -2, Dex +6, Con +2, Int +2, See Invisibility at will, immunity to poisons, some skill bonuses, bonus feats, and a few 1/day spell-like abilities: Pass Without Trace at CL 3, and Dancing Lights, Mirror Image, and Jump at CL 1. As a Fey, they should also get low-light vision. This is considerably better than what you would get from a Tauric hybrid, and even at a lower ECL due to a lack of racial HD, though it's small size.

yeah ... also entered this thread to suggest Hybsil ... protentially with slight refluffing, or using it as a baseline for homebrewing it into something closer to what you want

Trying to make a WC3 Dryad/Keeper of the Grove?

The first edition of the Warcraft RPG Manual of Monsters has rules for dryads as both monsters and PCs. They fit the bill perfectly.

When I read the title, I thought this would be about a race between an elf, a deer and a centaur. :smalltongue:

^This. I don't actually remember the decantaur specifically, and don't have the book handy at the moment, but pretty sure that's it. Either way, that book has cross-breeds between all sorts of species/races (several that are quite out there, haha).

I like your idea; I think it definitely makes sense. Basically just the difference between a human and elf, but with centaurs. Lighter, more dexterity/grace, maybe even still a medium-sized creature.

Actually, given the size disparity between a horse and deer, would a smaller humanoid race be better to use as the basis for the torso? I suppose it doesn't really matter. Either way, cool idea.

You might be extra-susceptible to being dazed by bright/shiny spells, though :smallwink:

You mean like (http://hydra-media.cursecdn.com/wowpedia.org/thumb/f/f8/Monstrous_Boon.jpg/300px-Monstrous_Boon.jpg) these (http://static3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20120225025813/fictionalraces/images/1/1a/Keeper_of_the_grove.jpg)?
