Basic question here, if a sentient undead were to become a native outsider, would they remain undead? Or would they lose the abilities they get from being undead?

Depends on how they became a native outsider. The template involved should specify.

For the record, 20th level Monks don't actually become outsiders, they're just treated as such for spells and effects, IIRC.

It's the capstone of Oskar's Blackguard (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showpost.php?p=10722359&postcount=4) class.

Ah. They're "treated as" undead and "treated as" an outsider with respect to certain things. That class doesn't actually change the character's type, the commentary in the spoiler is just sloppy language.

Thanks! I misread that, and thought he actually became an outsider. For the record, that capstone is being ported into another brew class who's cap wouldn't work as it's designed for a specific campaign and I'm playtesting it before we get there. The character in question is a vampire lord, so I was wondering how the two interacted. Thanks for the help, Ur-Priest.

I'm not buying homebrew as a legit argument.

On topic, depends on the undead. Outsiders lack duality (soul+body) so somethings would stretch my belief too far.

You are not entitled to buy or not buy the topic of the thread. The OP was asking a question about the consequences of that homebrew. The homebrew was the origin of the question, not an argument for a position.
