Unarmed fighter

Is it really possible in PF to make one? LIke a fighter that prefers to use fists but can still be viable as a playable class? I seem to remember a "street fighter" variant of monk one time that was like a monk with the supernatural abilities removed and replaced with fighter bonus feats.

The main problem is the low damage you do when unarmed. You can get around it a bit with a monk's robe but that only takes you so far. Plus, your unarmed strikes won't be considered as being both natural and manufactured for the purpose of spells that boost such things.
