Minerit

Origin

The Minerit speak of a time where they were carried from the stars to this world by giant asteroids while they slumbered. Its believed that several of these asteroids broke up into chunks and crashed to the world as meteorites. Once on their new world, they made their way into the mountains to seek shelter and food. From there, they have built a simple but prosperous life amongst the earth.

Physical Characteristics

These four armed, bipedal creatures appear to more closely resemble earth elementals than anything else. Their bodies are made up of composite plates of many materials. Rare metals, gemstones and stone are combined to create an extremely durable exoskeleton that can contain the creature’s liquid metal bloodstream, kept pressurized and heated to extreme temperatures to insure survival.

While they can survive in almost any climate without much trouble, hotter climates seem to be easier for them to tolerate. Cold plays havoc with their bodies, causing them to be sluggish and slow thinking. In extreme colds, like those found in artic climates, their cores begin hardening slowly. If they are exposed for too long, the cold renders them immobilized until they finally die.

Although they do not have the same structure of internal or external organs like normal races do, they do share certain organs that seem to have the same functions as their humanoid counterparts. They have more than one heart; six in fact. These hearts generate an electromagnetic current, which is used to keep their blood hot and circulating. These hearts also have a unique role in reproduction (see reproduction below). Their brains are in fact spread throughout their bodies in the form of crystalline nodes. These nodes are utilized not just for thought, but also for channeling and regulating their innate psionic powers.

Minerit stand about four to four and a half feet tall and weigh about two to three hundred pounds.

Diet:

Minerit eat all kinds of materials. Their diet ranges from common rocks and minerals to cystals and metal. The only thing they refrain from eating is anything with a lot of patina on it. For some reason, heavily ozidized minerals seem to cause almost flu-like symtoms within the Minerit.

Gender and Reproduction:

Minerit have difficulty understanding gender. As a species that is asexual in both life and reproduction, it has trouble with concepts such as pairbonding and mating. They seem to view different genders as subspecies or mutations more than as a natural part of procreation. Gender-specific concepts are all but lost when dealing with the Minerit.

When a Minerit reaches great age, it begins a reproduction process that lasts about a year. During this process, its body begins slowly cracking, oozing liquid metal from every surface of its body. As it cools and hardens, the Minerit becomes nearly immobilized by the added covering of metals. After immobilized, it enters a state of comatose, referred to as ‘The Communion’. During this state, all its acquired knowledge and memories are passed to the young Minerit, although in a fractured and disjointed state. At the end of the reproductive state, as the old Minerit dies, the six young Minerit offspring break free from the old Minerit. Once the very hearts of the old Minerit, these young are almost fully developed mind-wise (although very small still), with fractured memories from the parent’s life.

Racial Interactions:

I'm unsure how this will go... I figure the dwarves won't like them at all...

Racial Statistics:

-2 Dexterity, +4 Constitution, -2 Charisma. Their bodies are extremely heavy and durable, but not very maneuverable. Furthermore, their minds are very alien and have difficulty with many social interactions.

Medium Aberration: Due to their alien mindset and anatomy, minerit cannot be affected with any effects that only affect humanoids, such as charm person or enlarge person.

Speed: Minerit have a base speed of 20 ft. Furthermore, Minerit have a burrow speed of 20 ft.

Thick Exoskeleton: Minerit bodies are very resilient to damage, requiring a lot of force to even penetrate their tough exoskeletons. They have Damage Reduction 5 / Adamantine, which improves by 5 at 8th level and again at 16th level.

Natural Armor: +3

Immunities: Due in part to their alien anatomy, Minerit are immune to many effects, including blindness, deafness, disease, drowning, electricity, fire, heat effects, poison, as well as all effects that affect respiration. Futhermore, spells and effects that deal with petrification, such as a medusa's gaze attack or flesh to stone/stone to flesh spells, do not affect the Minerit.

Vulnerabilities: Because of their partly crystalline structure and liquid metal core, Minerit suffer from several racial weaknesses. They take 50% more damage from cold and sonic effects. Furthermore, cold effects slow them for 1 round and extremely cold climates deal 1 point of constitution damage for each hour of exposure.

Multiple Limbs: Minerit have four arms, thus qualifying for feats that utilize multiple limbs, such as multiweapon fighting and multiattack.

Natural Attacks: Minerit can have four claws. The claws deal 1d4 damage and are primary attacks unless used in conjunction with a manufactured weapon.

Naturally Psionic: Minerit gain 1 bonus power point at 1st level. This benefit does not grant them the ability to manifest powers unless they gain that ability through another source, such as levels in a psionic class.

Psi-Like Abilities: Manifester level is equal to 1/2 Hit Dice (minimum 1st).
At will – Missive
1/day – Crystal Shard

Racial Hit Dice: A Minerit begins with four levels of aberration, which provide 4d8 Hit Dice, a base attack bonus of +3, and base saving throw bonuses of Fort +1, Ref +1, and Will +4.

Racial Feats: A Minerit has aberration levels, which give it two feats.

Racial Skills: A Minerit has aberration levels, which give it skill points equal to 7 × (2 + Int modifier, minimum 1). Its class skills are Balance, Climb, Jump, Knowledge (Geography), Knowledge (Nature), Listen, Search, and Spot, Survival and Tumble. Minerit have a +2 racial bonus on Search, Spot, and Listen checks.

Automatic Languages: Minerit and Terran. Although they can speak their own language, Minerit, most Minerit prefer short communications through their psi-like abilities over verbal communication. Those few Minerit that travel with adventurers often break this tradition and speak out loud.

Bonus Languages: Common, Draconic, Dwarven, Orc, Undercommon.

Favored Class: Wilder or Druid
Level Adjustment: +2

Does this have Racial Hit Die? If not, then the LA is too low.
