Hello all -
Is it possible to have a plane that is both good aligned and of the negative energy variety? What about the opposite (Evil aligned, positive energy)? What might be some ideas for these kinds of planes?

Thanks!

There's an elder evil that spews positive energy from every pore (it's kind of like the zerg, in appearance). Having a plane that's like that elder evil would qualify.

Positive and Negative energy are not intrinsically tied to Good or Evil by default.

The positive energy plane can be brutal as hell as it is. If I recall correctly, it just keeps healing you until you double your max HP, at which point you explode. Meaning that your choices, unless you have Avoid Planar Effects or somesuch, are either die by explosion or perpetually wound yourself. Both of those are pretty grisly options for what appears on the surface to be a "good" plane.

Elemental Plane of Candy Goth, you say?

Technically, they aren't. But then you get to the part of the description where the NEP is full of undead, who are Always Evil and it gets a bit difficult.

So, yes. Theoretically, that could exist. I think it even should exist, from a cosmological standpoint. It just never seems to show up.

A plane of quiet surrender? It offers the Good Death. It says to you "shh, shh, no, don't struggle. It's time. Lay down your weary burden and rest. You deserve it."

Ugh. Even if the attitude is genuine, it's still creepy.

Pathfinder has the Sceaduinar, (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/monster-listings/outsiders/sceaduinar) negative energy affinity crystal outsider gribblies who live on the Negative Energy Plane. Now these guys are evil. (They hate the undead, but hate the living just as much). But there's no inherent reason they have to be- they're not Evil Subtype They could just be adapted to live in an area that's hostile to other forms of life. Indeed, most of their spell like abilities could be fluffed as just working with the material they have (when all your materials are negative energy infused, all your tools look like Inflict Wounds).

Indeed, I could see them as a race of peaceful contemplatives, who very rarely have to worry about conflict with other races, since no one can survive long in their most comfortable areas (until someone can, which is when they need the PCs to bail them out).

Or they could be undead hunters, dedicated to tracking down and destroying what they see as perversions of their Life-Force.

Or they could be the guards of a prison designed for something really awful- so bad, it had an entire Deathplane wrapped around it to keep it from coming back to life.
