I'm a great fan of the original Castlevania: Lords of Shadow. I thought it was a triumphant evolution of the franchise in terms of gameplay.
Then I saw that Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate was coming out for the 3DS and I didn't really pay it any attention: by then I had seen the previews for LoS 2 and said, "I don't need to play some side story on a handheld."
Clearly I was terribly mistaken. I realized something was amiss when the opening cinematic for LoS 2 recounted the events of no fewer than seemingly 3 games, casually introducing people like Trevor and Simon Belmont and Alucard and glossing over entire character arcs.
The point of this post is to ask you fine people a question:
Would you recommend Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate? Especially for understanding what's going on in Lords of Shadow 2?
