So, one of my players has a Factotum/Swordsage PC that is obsessed with shiny objects, shiny magic, and all such things that glisten and shine.
So far, she has discovered:
- Gloryborn armor
- Desert Wind Maneuvers (The ones that produce fire!)
- Beaded necklaces
- A diamond ring
Obviously, she has a long way to go in her quest for shininess.

Anybody have ideas for shiny objects and effects?
Small cost is ideal, but we can work towards bigger things.
A few ideas:
- Wand of glitterdust
- Flash powder
- Fireworks
- Glammerweave clothing

Helm of brilliance need be stated regardless of cost. :smallwink:

That said glass beads, crystal weapons, anything metal so long as it's new from belt buckles to longsword. Candles and glowbugs. Riverine items are force and water, so they can sparkle. Better cloths, like a noble's outfit. Coins. Lots and lots of shiny coins. A psudodragon pet with an endless supply of sparkily scales. A bar of soap to keep everything shiny.

I mean this really is an "anything under the sun" type question... heh... heh... pun not intended but what evs. :smalltongue:

Have her PC turn into a were-bowerbird?

What about sparkly vampires?

I now have the mental picture of someone trying to shove an Adult dragon into a bag of holding.
"Uhh....I'm pretty sure we are supposed to be fighting it, not.....whatever you are doing."
"MY SHINY!"
"Let go of me before I eat you, you irritating monkey!"
"MY SHINY!!!!"
Too funny.

Anyway silversheen (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/magicItems/wondrousItems.htm#silversheen) makes anything shiney for an hour (250gp)
Chaos Diamonds (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/magicItems/wondrousItems.htm#chaosDiamond)are shiny, though at 160000 they are probably a bit outside the price range you're aiming for.
Reflecting armor (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/magicItems/magicArmor.htm#reflecting) is shiny, though the +5 is still too much.

I'd consider giving the factotum an intelligent item (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/magicItems/intelligentItems.htm) that can cast faerie fire (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/faerieFire.htm) 6x a day. Then I'd make that intelligent item even more obsessed with shinyness than the character is. (6210 GP).

Don't forget that 30% of magic weapons glow as if a light spell had be cast on them.

No love for Glassteel? It's glass that's tough as IRON! Magic of Faerun, IIRC.

Nimbus of Light is a feat from Book of Exalted Deeds that makes you glow at will. There's another feat in the chain to be able to glow so well that you hurt undead.

Asherati (race from Sandstorm) can glow with their Body Lamp (su) at will.

Master of Radiance is a PrC from Libris Mortis that uses light spells to kill undead.

Put it all together and you can glow while you glow and glow to kill all of the undead.

Oh yeah! There's also the Nerra, a race of outsiders from the plane of mirrors. They've got weapons made of extremely sharp, mirrored metal that he might try to get.

Prismatic Burst Weapons (MIC) are bright.
