Miko is far more interesting as a fallen paladin...so much more potential. Atonement? I hope not, I hope she falls further into bitterness and hatred...Miko as a blackguard would be SOOOO sexy-cool. Step aside, Sabine. There's a new bad-girl in town!

Got what she deserved? Maybe...but who said the path of a paladin is rewarding, anyway? You only really get what you deserve on the other side, mates! Evil for the win!

True, if Miko has truly ceased being a Paladin, she might take some time off to enjoy life.

Only, after a lifetime of discipline (224: "Very well, we can camp here in this muddy ditch by the side of the road. There are sharp rocks we can use as pillows and plenty of litchen to eat."), what would truly satisfy her?

I dunno. I'm a sucker for a good redemption. But I'm not sure where hers might come from - she doesn't really have a lot of supports to grasp. You'll probably get your way, and she'll keep on falling. She's done a lot of work to burn her bridges already.

I dunno.. I blame the strict rules of Paladinhood as part of the "stick up her butt" with that remove, Miko might actually be a kind person with a good heart.

Her heart is in the right place in terms of doing good.

Her heart is in the right place in terms of doing good.Well, there is the fact that she put all of those hours in at the orphanage during her off time. Not to mention her duties at the animal shelter caring for puppies.

Oh, yeah! When she helped raise money for the new wing of the Old Paladin's home! Can't forget that one.

:miko:- When a paladin's ruler is killed, she's supposed to do something about it. It doesn't make any difference what you thought of him. He was your leader and you're supposed to do something about it. And it happens I'm in the fighting evil business. Well, when one of your leaders gets killed, it's-it's bad business to let the killer get away with it, bad all around, bad for every do-gooder everywhere. I'm Miko Miyazaki, private detective

Finally relieving a lifetime's Throbbing Biological Urges, Miko gains 3 stone in the space of a week, then swears off chocolate for life.

Miko's itinerary:
buy milk
feed scruffy
save Galactic Republic

Well, if miko atoned, that'd be pretty anit climactic. I mean, then this whole fast few comics wouldn't really have a point imo.

Well, Miko could always choose to become a Paladin for the gods of the north.
Then again, how would that work?

I agree. Blackgaurd would be way more interesting. Especially if she is still convinced that she is doing good.

I loved Miko from the start, and I think that now she's cooler then ever. I'd like nothing more then to see her kick Order of the Stick's collective asses... again. Having lost her Paladin powers, and being made an all-out villain, that is quite unlikely. But she has my heart all the way through her Fall, right to the botomless pits of Hell.

there are many people who have VERY strong conviction and heart to do good. Miko just need a serious boost in Wisdom and probably a huge hint of "The big picture" cause she is not getting it.

At this point, unless the gods themselves come down and explain it to her, she is not listening to anyone :(

Once she really understand what is going on, she'll be a wise paladin. (we hope)(

My faith was starting to waver after #408 (I'm working my way up through the threads). I was going to post about it here, but your post saved me.

Roy's just a big meanie head anyway! And I really loved the last panel! Oh yeah! Halfling on a stick, baby!

I've hated Miko from day one and this new developement is a step up because it means that the OotS can attack her with implements more lethal than biting sarcasm.

And I have to say, having Miko helping OoTs would be a far more interesting step than "omg paladin turning to blackguard what a horrifying rarity!!!11"

With the new twist on things, I'm seeing Miko a bit diffrently. I don't hate her with a burning pashion, but rather a freindly hatred. She's the kind of character I'd love to role-play with. My characters would probably hate her, but I'd have an amazing time during that role-play. She's like the opposite of one of my favourite, more annoying characters.

I want her to live, simply so I can go on hating her. If she died, I'd be sad. ;P

Yeah, I know. I'm wierd.

Man oh man, I can't wait until Miko dies.

She will officially be my favorite OotS character when she's dead.

Maybe Miko will become a Kore (from Goblins) style paladin now? (I seriously doubt this but,) It would be cool is she pretended to have gotten her powers back so she could fight for what she believes to be justice while she kills hundreds of innocents that she believes to be evil, with the aid of various magical items.

I'm not really sure about that - the atonement would have been a dramatic climax. Or at least the moral realization - a shattering event causing her torealize that all her previous judgements regarding the OotS were wrong - would have been a dramatic climax and the long evil-whupping road towards paladin type atonement would have been a subsequent subplot.

As a Fallen Paladin she can't even handle Roy solo let alone the whole OOtS. Notice she never actually hit Roy with a sword in the last fight. Go Combat Expertise!

Well... She did stun him with that kick. She could have chopped his head off instead of run : P (if attacks acctually hurt instead of just take of hit points. Gha... Such an idiotic system ~~)

Is it possible to un-level? : P I mean, she's got all those paladin levels, but if she's to become a worthy villain she would need lots of levels in some other class now that the paladin spells are gone. : )

Unlike every other time Roy fought Miko, he's got his sword this time. Roy's a Fighter; I can guarantee he's got Weapon Focus, Greater Weapon Focus, and Weapon Specialisation - at the very least. Half his feats are probably tied up in the Greatsword - and, unlike the club he had before, this one's magical to boot. Probably more than compensates for the difference in their levels, and Miko's probably got some sort of penalties due to shock, too. It's like their roles were completely reversed: this time, Roy's got all the advantages. (Plus Miko isn't immune to his intimidation any more - that's what his taunts are, I think.)

I agree. That was a golden opportunity to send Roy to jock-hell. Miko needs an evil tutor and a montage sequence A.S.A.P.

Go Combat Expertise! :smallbiggrin:Yes, she did hit him with her sword. At the end of page 1, you can see the red mark on his torso. She just can't hit him as hard or as easily as when she had her powers.

Plus, she has to be hurting pretty bad herself.
