Research & Development Character: Emerald Legion

I am starting a new campaign based on JeminiZero's Emerald Legion (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=101587). At the end of the first dungeon, they will have the option of either assisting in the creation of the Emerald Legion, or fighting against it. Starting level is 10, with the party so far consisting of a nerfed Lv 4 Gargoyle Fighter, and a Human Rogue.

I need some kind of Arcane or Psionic researcher, human female, to act as either their liason to the mindflayers, or as a reccuring enemy. Anyone got any ideas?

What about a Factotum or a Warlock?

Anything with Intelligence as a major attribute.
So, Wizard, Archivist, Factotum, Duskblade, Psion, Assassin, and some others.

Personally, I'm partial to Factotum and Duskblade. Both are second line fighters with some spellcasting. Factotum has the added bonus of knowing everything about everything.

Fleshwarper would be a pretty cool liaison to the Mindflayers.
Alternatively, giving him some Illithid heritage feats or grafts would be pretty cool.

Okay, I could try to work with a Factotum. As I personally have a low INT score, could someone guide me through how Factotum works, and possible PrCs I could work with?
