You get relentless shield which is sweet, allowing to negate most attacks to your mount. You also get full mounted attack, which is not mounted pounce but still great.

Basically, it's a solid way to get a mount that stacks with Paladin Mount advancement. It's no Ubermount, but it's good for what it does.

I see on page 67 it says that you can give your mount the benefits of being your paladin mount, so that means that the class levels stack for purposes of determining your effective class level? Or that your mount gains the normal class advancement and the advancement of any paladin levels, i.e 10th level paladin mount + 10th level dragoon mount if your level 20?
