What are you supposed to do if you get hit with Power Word: Pain?

I may or may not be in the middle of a session right now as a Transmuter 3/Master Specialist 1 and the opposing boss monster just hit me with it for 11 rounds.

I have two potions of cure light wounds and 25HP, now 22.

What do?

...this slightly pisses me off.

Kill your opposition quickly, get healed/dispelled, and roll with it.

I don't get the point of casting PWP if you're not using hit and run tactics. It's not actually going to kill the enemy in time to do any good for the caster.

I would hope the group has someone who can heal out of combat. If you don't take any other damage you should survive for ~6 more rounds, 5 if you're unlucky, and combat is usually over by then. Wands of [healing spell] are your friend, especially lesser vigor in this scenario.

If you have no other sources of healing, you have decent odds of surviving (probably unconscious) simply if you take no other source of damage and eventually chug both potions... assuming you stabilize. If this is the case, this is a good lesson in cheap healing options: Wand of Lesser Vigor costs 750 gp. So does a belt of healing, which can do nice burst healing.
