My friend and I are thinking of playing a couple Derro, (the insane ones) for a campaign, which is not serious, but not silly at the same time. So I know that Derro are normally only allowed to be played when they are sane, but we've got the ok from the (to be) DM, if this campaign ever comes into fruition. The idea is that we're going to play a father and son, who's home has been destroyed by a dragon. So, both of our characters are completely focused on revenge, and even at our low starting level (somewhere between 1-3) we will go looking for that dragon which is a Great Wyrm.

My friend has already picked a class -- I believe it's a Rogue who just carries around torches and throws them at people.

I'm looking for an equally ridiculous character concept, and would like to see what all you here in the playground have to offer.

Thanks in advance

The Barbarian Wizard (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=195049) could be a fertile source of inspiration.

Well it is more creepy than crazy, but you could take a fleshwarper who grafts parts from his fallen kin convinced he is adding their strength to his.

I have to admit, that sounds like a pretty great character concept, and it would work perfectly considering the insanity factor of the Derro.
