As GMs Day rolls around (on March 4th of each year), remember to thank the people who make your fun possible; GMs, designers (both professional and homebrew), and the players who aren't *****.

I celebrated GM's day by running a great session of the 13th Age organized play program. We had a lot of fun, and one of my regular players gave me a PDF copy of the Numenera rulebook as a thank you! How awesome is that?

So, happy GM's day everyone!

Huh, did not know this was a thing.

Huh, I celebrate March 4th as the only day that tells you what to do. Is there a relation here, or was the day chosen for other reasons?

Huh, did not know this was a thing.

It doesn't, currently, make the cut (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_commemorative_days) of "top 150-odd notable days observed by at least a handful of people worldwide". So it's debatable whether it's "a thing" or not.

Who designated it?

I think I might celebrate by getting my GM some new markers. He keeps complaining about how his current markers keep running dry

Who designated it?

Obviously it's a GM-fabricated conspiracy to get presents from players.

Gary Gygax died on March 4th, 2008.

Of course, according to EN World, the date was picked in 2002.

Partly because March 4th is a day to March Forth and Do Something.

Here's the Official Site (http://gmsday.com/) with a link to the original EN World thread (under Important Links in the right sidebar).
