The process of creating the companion familiar for an arcane hierophant confuses me. My girlfriend wants to play the class and wants me to help. The charecter was fine but having trouble with the pet...

What's so confusing?

First of all you select your animal companion, as normal. Counting your levels in druid (or animal companion giving classes) and arcane hierophant to determine the abilities of it. You can use natural bond and other wise to increase the effective druid level.

Then once you have your animal companion as normal you make it your companion familiar. For doing so you determine the benefits that a familiar would have, counting your wizard (or familiar giving class) levels and add classes that progress it (such as arcane hierophant). You slap those abilities on top of those granted by the animal companion.
