The question is simple: does telepathy need line of effect? Or put another way does a solid stone wall block telepathy?

I guess I'm mainly asking for the RAW here, though I'm interested in the RAI as well.

My understanding is that it's like talking to a person's mind. Unfortunately, there isn't a method for rolling mental "Listen" checks, cause normally it is possible to talk to someone outside of line of sight (by yelling through a wall for instance). In theory, anyone inside the telepathy range hears perfectly. Also, some of the really long ranges would make LoE very improbable.

So, while I think the RAW is lacking (it totally is), RAI suggests that it is not necessary. But, there should also be a limit, maybe? I dunno. Seems stupid either way, frankly.

Telepathy
A creature with this ability can communicate telepathically with any other creature within a certain range (specified in the creature’s entry, usually 100 feet) that has a language. It is possible to address multiple creatures at once telepathically, although maintaining a telepathic conversation with more than one creature at a time is just as difficult as simultaneously speaking and listening to multiple people at the same time.

Some creatures have a limited form of telepathy, while others have a more powerful form of the ability.

No limit on line of sight or effect is stated. As long as the other creature is within 100 feet (and presumably on the same plane), then telepathy works.
