View Full Version : [Discussion] Shadow Artificer: Fixes, Optimization, and Thoughts

Back in the may of last year, I developed a variant of the artificer simply called the shadow artificer (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=282740). Looking back, its a homebrew I enjoyed making and wish to refine it further or at least get more input on it. Rather then reposting or bumping that thread up, I figured I would start this one. So, there are three components to this.

-Is there anything of this variant, or its variants, that need fixed? If so, what and how?

-How would one go about optimizing the shadow artificer, or it's variants? Would this very much from standard artificer optimization?

-What are your thoughts on the homebrew as a whole? Is it something you would use or welcome at the table?

Shadow Artificer: An artificer that emulates mysteries instead of spells.
Psionic Shadow Artificer: A shadow artificer combined with the psionic variant. They still emulate mysteries, but these mysteries are treated closer to psionic than arcane.
Shadowcraft Artificer: Based more in Realms of Chaos's Descent of Shadows (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=74519), this shadow artificer variant utilizes shadowcraft feats rather than item creation feats.
