The Brutalizer

"You may have captured me...but don't think you'll make me talk! I would rather die than tell you ANY- GRAK!"

"It's almost cute how you expect me to try and use your body as anything other than a toy for my amusement." - A conversation between a brutalizer and her prey.

Role: A brutalizer serves a similar purpose to the party as a rogue, she is strong, but squishy damage. A brutalizer does everything in her power to inflict as much pain as humanly possible.

Alignment: The large majority of brutalizers are chaotic evil, but a few of them have it in their minds that they can use their twisted desires for good as well. Lawful brutalizers are extremely rare, but occasionally they take up the sword and pass themselves off as "paladins" in order to hunt down sworn enemies of the church through 'legal' means.

Hit Dice: d8
Class Skills: The brutalizer's class skills are Acrobatics, Climb, Craft, Escape Artist, Intimidate, Knowledge (Local), Perception, Survival and Swim.
Skill Points: 2+Int per level

Class Features: The following are the class features of the brutalizer.

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Brutalizers are proficient in all simple and martial melee weapons. They are proficient with light armor, but not shields.

I Want to HURT Someone! (Ex): The brutalizer solves all of her problems the same way: she kills the thing that annoys her most. And once she gets going, a brutalizer's blood lust becomes hard to stop.

As a free action, a brutalizer may concentrate all of her effort into violence and nothing else. This is called entering a blood frenzy. While the brutalizer is in a blood frenzy, she may take no actions other than to attack, draw weapons, move, or shake off an enemy attack (such as standing up after being knocked prone, saving against hold person, escaping grapple, etc).

While in her blood frenzy, a brutalizer can smash through even the toughest skin and bloody her foes easily. The brutalizer ignores the first 5 points of a creature's damage reduction with her attacks, and gains a +1 morale bonus to her weapon damage rolls. Whenever a brutalizer damages a creature successfully while in a blood frenzy, her morale bonus to her damage rolls increases by +1, to a maximum of +5.

A brutalizer can maintain her blood frenzy for a number of rounds per day equal to 4+her Strength modifier (minimum 1 round per day), plus 2 rounds for every class level beyond first, and can end her blood frenzy any time as an immediate action. When she ends her blood frenzy, a brutalizer is fatigued for 2 rounds per round she was in her blood frenzy. A brutalizer may not enter blood frenzy while fatigued.

Path of Bloodshed (Ex): A brutalizer is a warrior without peer, and she focuses on a specific style of fighting that allows her to kill her enemies with as much blood and gore as possible. At 1st level, a brutalizer picks a fighting style to specialize in and gains benefits based on that style.

Impaler: A brutalizer who specializes in piercing weapons gains the ability to forcefully impale her foe on the end of her weapon. This requires a combat maneuver check, but if she succeeds, the brutalizer's target is treated as grappled while the brutalizer herself is not. However, the brutalizer must hold on to her piercing weapon to maintain the grapple. If she succeeds a combat maneuver check to keep her target impaled (a standard action, if she doesn't do this the creature can pull itself free), the creature also takes damage equal to her weapon's damage dice plus 1 1/2 times her Strength modifier.

Bloody Sword: A brutalizer who focuses on slashing weapons delights in the waves of blood her targets spill onto her blade. Whenever the brutalizer attacks a creature who has suffered damage from her slashing weapon and has not had that damage healed, she gains a +1 morale bonus to her attack rolls. This bonus increases by +1 every 5 levels, to a maximum of +5 at level 20. If the brutalizer chooses to use the Power Attack feat on a creature who has taken unhealed damage from her slashing weapon, she gains an additional +1 damage per penalty to her attack roll.

Brute Force: A brutalizer who focuses on bludgeoning weapons loves to smash and break her opponent's bones, but also enjoys smashing their gear. She gains Improved Sunder as a bonus feat (she need not meet the prerequisites), and any time she successfully sunders an item held or worn by a creature, that creature takes damage equal to her weapon's damage dice plus 1 1/2 times her Strength modifier.

Twin Bloody Blades: A brutalizer who focuses on using twin daggers or double axes to cut her opponents up finds it too simple. She gains the Two-Weapon Fighting feat as a bonus feat (she need not meet the prerequisites) and she can substitute her Strength score for her Dexterity score in order to qualify for any feats that have Two-Weapon Fighting as a prerequisite.

Powerful Throw: A brutalizer who likes to attack with thrown weapons from afar can use her deadly strength in place of accuracy. Her weapons are just too fast for her opponents. She uses her Strength modifier in place of her Dexterity modifier when making ranged attack rolls with thrown weapons, and she may substitute her Strength score instead of her Dexterity score to meet the prerequisites of the Point Blank Shot feat or any feat that lists Point Blank Shot as a prerequisite, though she may only apply the benefits of these feats to thrown weapons unless she has an adequately high enough Dexterity score.

Bloody Smile (Ex): A brutalizer doesn't like to let her prey go alive but sometimes her allies can convince her. That doesn't mean she lets them go without giving them something to think about. At 2nd level, a brutalizer gains the Intimidating Prowess feat as a bonus feat.

Sadistic Torture (Ex): A brutalizer has ways of making her targets talk. She just needs the paladin in the group to walk away for a bit, maybe admire the rustic architecture...At 3rd level, a brutalizer may inflict non-lethal damage on creatures without taking a penalty to her attack rolls, though she may only deal lethal damage if she uses a lethal weapon in blood frenzy. If a brutalizer deals non-lethal damage to a creature that is helpless and has blood, that creature must make a Fortitude save (DC = 10+damage dealt) or be sickened. If a creature is made sickened by Sadistic Torture, the brutalizer gains a +4 circumstance bonus on all Intimidate checks made against that creature.

Awesome Force (Ex): Barbarians have their rage powers, and brutalizers have their intense desire and skill in hurting others. From 4th level onward, a brutalizer adds 1 1/2 times her Strength modifier to her weapon damage rolls made with melee and thrown weapons (instead of whatever the normal bonus from Strength would be, not in addition to it), including one-handed weapons and weapons in her off hand. A brutalizer adds 3 damage to her damage rolls for every -1 penalty she takes with the Power Attack feat for all melee and thrown weapons.

Path of Bloodshed (Ex): At 5th level, the brutalizer's chosen path improves, granting her another ability.

Opportunistic Impale: A brutalizer who specializes in piercing weapons deals bonus damage equal to her class level when she makes an attack of opportunity with a melee piercing weapon or when she successfully makes an attack that she has braced against a charge. Additionally, if the brutalizer deals over 10 damage to a creature with an attack of opportunity with a melee piercing weapon, she may attempt to impale them as an immediate action.

Crimson Dance: A brutalizer who specializes in melee slashing weapons moves across the battlefield gracefully, leaving nothing but blood and gore everywhere she goes. The brutalizer gains the Spring Attack feat as a bonus feat, ignoring the prerequisites.

Knocked Senseless: A brutalizer who specializes in bludgeoning weapons can deliver devastating blows that crack a creature's skull. As a standard action, a brutalizer may take aim and deliver the deadliest possible attack to her target's vital area, ending with a sickening crunch of bone. She makes a single melee attack with a bludgeoning weapon at a -4 penalty, but if she hits, the creature takes normal weapon damage and is dazed for one round (Fort Negates, DC 10+1/2 brutalizer's Base Attack Bonus + her Strength modifier).

Savage Flurry: A brutalizer who specializes in dual-wielding gains the ability to rend her enemies' flesh and leave them bleeding and broken. The brutalizer gains the rend special attack. If she deals damage to a single creature with both of her melee weapons in a single round, she tears into their flesh, dealing additional damage equal to her weapon's damage dice plus 1 1/2 times her Strength modifier (If she wields two different weapons, she uses the highest damage dice, so 1d6 if she has a shortsword and a dagger). She cannot rend more than once per round.

Deadly Aim: A brutalizer who specializes in thrown weapons can inflict horrible wounds to her enemies from afar that badly wound them. As a standard action, a brutalizer can take aim before throwing one of her thrown weapons at a target with a -4 penalty. If she hits, the target takes normal weapon damage and has one of its movement speeds, chosen by the brutalizer at the time, reduced to 5' for 1d4 rounds. (Ref Negates, DC 10+1/2 her base attack bonus + her Strength modifier).

I Want to MAIM Someone! (Ex): At 6th level, the brutalizer's bloody frenzy improves. She now ignores the first 10 points of a creature's damage reduction, and gains a +2 morale bonus on her damage rolls. This bonus increases by +2 each time she deals damage to an enemy, to a maximum of +10.

I-Is That Blood? (Ex): At 7th level, a brutalizer is barely able to contain her delight when she sees a bleeding creature. The brutalizer gains the pounce special attack, allowing her to make a full attack against a creature at the end of a charge, but she may only use it when she charges to a creature that already has taken damage.

I'll Hunt Them Down! (Ex): Few things embarrass a brutalizer more than letting her prey escape. When she reaches 8th level, the brutalizer gains the scent quality, allowing her to sense the presence of living creatures who have blood within 30 feet of her. This increases to 60 feet if the creature is upwind, but drops to 15 feet if the creature is downwind. She can also track creatures with the Survival skill even if she has no tracks, just their scent to follow, as the scent universal ability.

The brutalizer's range on her scent doubles (60' base, 120' upwind, 30' downwind) if the creature has been damaged by her. Additionally, the trail never goes cold for her if she has the creature's blood on her weapon and she doesn't wash it off. When tracking an injured creature by scent, the brutalizer gains a +4 morale bonus to her Survival checks.

Symbol of Death (Ex): A brutalizer who has reached the midpoint of her career has left a path of bloody bodies behind her, and other creatures have definitely taken notice. The brutalizer gains a +4 circumstance bonus to her Intimidate check against living creatures who live in a town, settlement, or city with a population of 40 or greater. However, all creatures she encounters in these settings have a default attitude of unfriendly towards her.

Grievous Wounds (Ex): A brutalizer's weapons leave scars that never heal, and even resist magic. Beginning at 9th level, when a creature is damaged by a brutalizer's melee or thrown weapon attacks, its natural healing ceases to function. Fast healing and regeneration abilities are negated for 1 round per 3 class levels of the brutalizer (additional damage resets the duration), and the creature is unable to heal naturally with rest until it gets the wound treated. The DC for a Heal check made against a creature with Grievous Wounds increases by 10, and any attempt to use conjuration (healing) spells or spell-like abilities on a creature with Grievous Wounds requires a caster level check (DC 11+brutalizer's level).

Path of Bloodshed (Ex): At level 10, a brutalizer's proficiency with her chosen weapon style improves, granting her another bonus.

Surface Impaler - A brutalizer who chooses to specialize in piercing weapons gains the ability to stick the edge of her weapon into a flat surface after she has impaled a creature, leaving it stuck there while she deals with other matters. This requires a standard action and a suitable flat surface, such as a tree, wall, or the ground. If the brutalizer wishes to impale the ground, she must knock her impaled target prone first, either with a pin check or the trip combat maneuver.

Impaling a surface provokes an attack of opportunity, and the brutalizer must make a combat maneuver check against its impaled target. The impaled creature gains a +5 bonus to its CMD to resist this attempt. If the brutalizer succeeds, she sticks the weapon into the surface and the creature must attempt to sunder the weapon before it can break free of the grapple. The brutalizer no longer needs to hold the weapon to maintain the grapple, and the impaled creature automatically takes damage equal to the weapon's damage dice plus its enhancement bonus every round.

Slicing Dash: A brutalizer who specializes in slashing weapons gains even greater mobility as she attempts to cover the battlefield in beautiful blood. When using the Spring Attack feat, the brutalizer can move from her first target to another target instead of past her target, and attack that second target with a -5 penalty. She may do this a number of times equal to her total attacks allowed in a full attack (max 4), each time taking an additional -5 penalty to her attack roll, but she may not attack a particular creature more than once. If she has not moved up to twice her base speed after she has attacked all her targets, she may continue moving as normal for the Spring Attack feat.

Ferocious Swing: A brutalizer who specializes in bludgeoning weapons can break anything, and often does. She ignores the hardness of objects when wielding a melee bludgeoning weapon and her attacks are treated as adamantine for the purposes of overcoming damage reduction. Additionally, any time she hits a creature with her bludgeoning weapon, that creature is knocked off balance and takes a cumulative -1 penalty to its attack rolls and skill checks for 1 round.

Bloody Onslaught: A brutalizer who specializes in dual wielding improves her deadly barrage of attacks even further. When she successfully rends a target, that target provokes an attack of opportunity from the brutalizer and any of her allies that threaten it. Additionally, when the brutalizer pounces while wielding two melee weapons, her target is denied its Dexterity bonus (if any) to its AC against her for one round.

Bloody Missiles: A brutalizer who specializes in thrown weapons can bring her whole bandolier out for a good time. As a standard action, a brutalizer can make a single attack with a thrown weapon at her highest attack bonus at each enemy creature she has line of sight and line of effect to within her weapons' first range increment.

I Want to SHRED Someone! (Ex): It's not just about killing anymore...the brutalizer wants to see creatures suffer. She wants to see them bleed. She NEEDS to see them BLEED! When a brutalizer of 11th level or higher enters a blood frenzy, she gains a +3 morale bonus to her damage rolls. This increases by +3 each time she damages an enemy, to a maximum of +15. Additionally, the first successful attack a brutalizer makes each round while in a bloody frenzy deals bleed damage to her target equal to her Strength modifier (minimum 1).

Sadistic Feast (Ex): If her allies haven't left her by now, they will as soon as they see this...Starting at 12th level, a brutalizer gains the ability to sap restorative energy from an enemy's blood. She may either do this as a standard action by licking a weapon that has inflicted at least 10 points of lethal damage to a creature within 1 minute, or as a full-round action that provokes an attack of opportunity by drinking blood from a fresh corpse or a helpless creature with at least 20 points of lethal damage on it. If she licks her weapon, she heals 1d8+her class level hit points and gains a +2 morale bonus to her saving throws for 3 rounds, then she can't lick her weapon again until it has dealt at least 10 more damage. If she drinks from a corpse, she restores hit points as if affected by the heal spell, with a caster level equal to her class level, but it does not heal her of any negative status conditions. She also gains a +2 morale bonus to her saving throws for 1 minute and all enemy creatures within 30 feet who can see and hear her must make a Fortitude save (DC 10+1/2 her base attack bonus + her Strength modifier) or be sickened for 1 minute.

Scream for Me! (Ex): The brutalizer doesn't need a zone of truth or detect thoughts or even dominate person to get answers out of someone. She just needs a soundproof room and ten minutes. Beginning at 13th level, when a brutalizer uses her Sadistic Torture class feature, she may choose to make the creature nauseated instead of sickened, and her circumstance bonus to Intimidate checks against that creature increases to +8.

Devastating Force (Ex): The brutalizer can't stand prey that's alive. From 14th level onward, she adds twice her Strength modifier to her damage rolls with melee and thrown weapons, rather than 1 1/2 times. Additionally, whenever the brutalizer damages a creature with a melee or thrown weapon, that creature takes 1 point of Constitution damage (no save).

Path of Bloodshed (Ex): The brutalizer is close now, close to the end of her journey. How many lives has she taken? How many people are left for her to kill?

Vicious Impale: A brutalizer that specializes in piercing weapons automatically impales a creature whenever she successfully hits that creature with her melee piercing weapon and deals at least 15 points of damage with one attack.

Twist the Knife: A brutalizer that specializes in slashing weapons can make a combat maneuver check as a free action every time she successfully hits and damages a creature with her melee slashing weapon. If she succeeds, that creature takes additional bleed damage equal to the weapon's damage dice.

Titan's Strength: A brutalizer who specializes in bludgeoning weapons gains the ability to wield melee bludgeoning weapons one size larger than her without penalty. She gains 5' additional reach when wielding these weapons, but can still make attacks against adjacent creatures if the weapon is not a reach weapon.

Spiral Daggers: A brutalizer who specializes in dual wielding gains a +5 morale bonus on attack rolls made against a creature she has already rended this round.

Cloud of Steel: A brutalizer who specializes in throwing weapons gains the ability to throw two additional weapons per round in a full round attack, at her highest attack bonus. If she chooses to do this, all of her attacks for that round take a -2 penalty.

I Want to KILL Someone! (Ex): The brutalizer's bloody frenzy is now at its maximum power. While in a bloody frenzy, a 16th or higher level brutalizer ignores all damage reduction with her melee and thrown attacks, and gains a +4 morale bonus to her damage rolls. This increases by an additional +4 each time she damages a target, up to a maximum of +20. Her bleed damage remains the same. She is no longer fatigued after her frenzy ends.

Let Me At Them! (Ex): A brutalizer no longer needs the scent of blood to get her excited. She can tear up anyone she doesn't like from far away. At 17th level, a brutalizer can pounce at any creature within range, even if they are unharmed.

Bloody Festival (Ex): How long has it been since she killed a creature and drank its blood? The shaking won't stop...it's so cold...blood would be so warm going down her throat right now...At 18th level, when a brutalizer uses her Sadistic Feast ability, she heals 4d8+twice her class level as a standard action, or 200 hit points as a full-round action.

Vision of Carnage (Sp): A high-level brutalizer has killed and maimed and destroyed so many living creatures that she has become one with the ideal of War itself. The brutalizer gains the ability to cast legend lore once per day as a spell-like ability with a caster level equal to her class level. The casting time is reduced to 40 minutes no matter what kind of information she has on the subject, however, she can only ask about figures famous or known for their participation in wars or battles, or about specific wars or battle events.

Path of Bloodshed (Ex): And so she has reached the end. So long ago, she was just a girl, with no idea what life had in store for her. And now, as she walks forward, the blood of those she once called friends fresh on her lips, she takes a deep breath and inhales all the blood scents within range, and realizes her true purpose: to kill every single living thing.

Impaling Finale: If a creature is at less than half its maximum hit points and it is impaled by the brutalizer, the brutalizer can spend a full-round action to finish it off. She makes a CMB check with a -5 bonus. The enemy creature makes a Fortitude save (DC equal to her CMB check). If it fails, the creature dies.

Steel Finale: When a brutalizer who specializes in slashing weapons attacks a creature with at least 5 points of Constitution damage with a melee slashing weapon, its head is cut off as if she had rolled a natural 20 on a vorpal weapon.

Percussion Finale: When a brutalizer who specializes in bludgeoning weapons scores a critical hit against a creature with a melee bludgeoning weapon, that creature's bones are shattered. The creature is permanently paralyzed with no saving throw. (This only applies to creatures with a skeleton of some sort who are also vulnerable to critical hits).

Twin Blade Finale: When a brutalizer successfully damages a creature he has already rended this round while wielding two melee weapons, that creature takes 2 points of Constitution damage instead of 1.

Death Lotus: As a full-round action, a brutalizer who specializes in thrown weapons may throw as many thrown weapons as she can draw at every creature near her. She spins around furiously, pulling each weapon she has and throwing it at a target. This attack hits every target within range of her evenly, (so 15 daggers at 3 targets would mean 5 daggers per target), and she can only throw a maximum of 20 thrown weapons in a single round with this ability.

Bloody Impale (Combat)
Prerequisites: Str 15, Opportunistic Impaler class feature
Benefit: When you impale a creature with your melee piercing weapon, that creature takes bleed damage equal to your weapon's damage dice. This bleed damage persists until creature is no longer impaled.

Crimson Ballet (Combat)
Prerequisites: Str 15, Crimson Dance class feature
Benefit: While using the Spring Attack feat, you can make a Perform (Dance) check (DC 15). If you succeed, you get a second attack against your first target at your highest attack bonus.

Knocked Out Cold (Combat)
Prerequisites: Str 15, Knocked Senseless class feature
Benefit: If your Knock Senseless ability deals 10 or more weapon damage to the target, you may choose to have the creature be stunned on a failed save, rather than dazed. Additionally, if your damage exceeds 19, the stun/daze condition persists for one additional round per 10 damage it exceeds 10, to a maximum of 5 rounds. Each round, the creature gets a new Fortitude save to try and resist the negative effect for the round, a single save ends the entire effect.

Bloody Blitz (Combat)
Prerequisites: Str 15, Savage Flurry class feature
Benefit: As a standard action, you may make a single attack with your main hand weapon and your off-hand weapon, both at your highest attack penalty. The penalties for fighting with Two-Weapons apply normally.

Sadistic Cannon (Combat)
Prerequisites: Str 15, Deadly Aim class feature
Benefit: When you hit a single creature with multiple thrown weapons in the same round, the creature takes damage as if the weapons were cumulatively one Size larger per successful hit (to a maximum of Colossal). (For example, if a creature were to be hit by 4 of your Medium daggers, they would first take 1d4, then 1d6, then 1d8, then 2d6 damage).

Sadistic Snack
Prerequisites: Sadistic Feast class feature
Benefit: You may lick your weapon to heal as a move action, or feast on a corpse as a standard action.
Normal: You lick your weapon as a standard action and feast on a corpse as a full-round action.

Bloody Wrestling (Combat)
Prerequisites: Sadistic Feast class feature
Benefit: You gain a natural bite attack and the Blood Drain special attack of a vampire. While you are in a blood frenzy, you gain the grab special attack with your bite, which you can use on creatures up to one Size category larger than you.

Horrific Feast (Combat)
Prerequisites: Bloody Wrestling, Str 19
Benefit: You gain the Swallow Whole special attack. Your gullet can hold up to one creature of your Size category, up to four creatures one size smaller, and etc. Your gullet has an AC of 25 and 50 hit points, and your gullet deals 2d6 bludgeoning and 2d6 acid damage each round to a creature you've swallowed.

When you swallow a creature whole, you gain the benefits of licking your weapon as stated in the Sadistic Feast class feature. If the creature dies while inside your stomach, you gain the benefits of drinking from a corpse (this costs no action to use).

Very nice work! I particularly like how much detail you went into about the different types of people who could play this.

Thanks, but honestly the lore could use a lot of work. It's nothing like my Pyromania spells or my Rogue Djinn or my Jungle Rager, sadly. I'm glad you liked it!

Question about the Savage Flurry ability: it says that, when she successfully strikes with both weapons she can then rend the creature, "dealing additional damage equal to her weapon's damage dice plus 1 1/2 times her Strength modifier."

Does this mean she deals both her weapon's damages again, or just the most powerful weapon? I imagine that some individuals using two weapons will use two different ones.

Otherwise I like it. I have a friend who would probably love to play this class with his horrible monstrosity Grug...

It's highest weapon damage. I'll clarify.

This looks fun. I actually really want to try this.

My one objection is that Katarina is blatantly not a member of this class. She is clearly Dex focused, not Str focused :smalltongue:

I see that as the Shadow Blade feat from Time of Battle. dex to damage with certain weapons, including daggers.

But yeah, this class looks like all manner of fun. I kind of want to run a split personality NPC Paladin whose other side is a Werewolf Brutalizer.

Smaller than I would expect for a melee class as focused as this.

While the brutalizer is in a blood frenzy, she may take no actions other than to attack, draw weapons, move, or shake off an enemy attack (such as standing up after being knocked prone, saving against hold person, escaping grapple, etc).
Abit more arbitrary than Rage's restrictions.

Bloody Sword:
Basically the attack bonus to match the damage bonus, fair enough.

Basically makes everything as useful as a two-handed weapon. Good to see not just since it means one handed weapons can be decent, without this the two-weapon fighting style would be rather difficult to deal decent damage.

Deadly Aim: A brutalizer who specializes in thrown weapons can inflict horrible wounds to her enemies from afar that badly wound them. As a standard action, a brutalizer can take aim before throwing one of her thrown weapons at a target with a -4 penalty. If she hits, the target takes normal weapon damage and has its base move speed reduced to 5'. (Ref Negates, DC 10+1/2 her base attack bonus + her Strength modifier).
Not necessary, but why don't you expand this to lower one movement mode of the target rather than just the base move speed. Hit a flying dragon out of the sky so they don't get out of range and so your melee companions can actually hit it.

Flavourful. Just wondering, is their a mechanical reason behind the restriction?

I Want to SHRED Someone! (Ex): It's not just about killing anymore...the brutalizer wants to see creatures suffer. She wants to see them bleed. She NEEDS to see them BLEED! When a brutalizer of 11th level or higher enters a blood frenzy, she gains a +3 morale bonus to her damage rolls. This increases by +3 each time she damages an enemy, to a maximum of +15. Additionally, the first successful attack a brutalizer makes each round while in a bloody frenzy deals bleed damage to her target equal to her Strength modifier (minimum 1).
How long does bleed damage go for? Or is this just a different damage type?

I'm not sure how to stop this but, could eat tiny dead things like frogs and bugs and stuff to get a free Heal spell.

Spiral Daggers: A brutalizer who specializes in dual wielding gains a +5 morale bonus on attack rolls made against a creature she has already rended this round.

Sorta useless since it can't stack with the Blood Frenzy.

Steel Finale: When a brutalizer who specializes in slashing weapons attacks a creature with at least 5 points of Constitution damage with a melee slashing weapon, its head is cut off as if she had rolled a natural 20 on a vorpal weapon.

Doesn't that mean they just have to hit 6 times to auto-kill most things regardless of damage?

Percussion Finale: When a brutalizer who specializes in bludgeoning weapons scores a critical hit against a creature with a melee bludgeoning weapon, that creature's bones are shattered. The creature is permanently paralyzed with no saving throw. (This only applies to creatures with a skeleton of some sort who are also vulnerable to critical hits).
Wow.... That's harsh..... :smalleek:

Smaller than I would expect for a melee class as focused as this.

It's a glass cannon DPS, like a rogue.

Basically makes everything as useful as a two-handed weapon. Good to see not just since it means one handed weapons can be decent, without this the two-weapon fighting style would be rather difficult to deal decent damage.

And the thrown weapons too.

Not necessary, but why don't you expand this to lower one movement mode of the target rather than just the base move speed. Hit a flying dragon out of the sky so they don't get out of range and so your melee companions can actually hit it.

Useful. I'll add that.

It gets better later. I just don't like handing out free pounce early but melee kind of needs it.

How long does bleed damage go for? Or is this just a different damage type?

Bleed damage goes until the creature receives magical healing, at least enough equal to the original damage that caused the bleed, or until the creature receives a DC 15 Heal check.

I'm not sure how to stop this but, could eat tiny dead things like frogs and bugs and stuff to get a free Heal spell.

Sure, but I don't mind free out-of-combat healing for one person.

Sorta useless since it can't stack with the Blood Frenzy.

Actually, it can. Bloody Frenzy offers no bonus to attack rolls, just to damage rolls.

Doesn't that mean they just have to hit 6 times to auto-kill most things regardless of damage?

Yes, but it's a level 20 ability.

Wow.... That's harsh..... :smalleek:

See above.

Do you like the class though?

Fair.

Ah, I was confusing it up with the slashing thingie which gives the morale bonus to attack rolls.

Yes, but it's a level 20 ability.
I suppose that you are fighting creatures with wish at this level aren't you. :smalltongue:

Do you like the class though?
Yeah. I mean, I generally see melee classes as bit "meh", but the flavour of it is good enough for me to get over that. Like the mechanical possibilities with doing things like nailing someone to a door and punching someone so hard all their bones break.
