This arose from misreading another thread title.

A spell sword gets "channel spell" that works as follows

Channel Spell (Sp): At 4th level, a spellsword can channel any spell he can cast into his melee weapon. Using this ability requires a move action, and the spellsword uses up the prepared spell or spell slot just as if he had cast the spell. The channeled spell affects the next target that the spell sword successfully attacks with his weapon (saving throws and spell resistance still apply). Even if the spell normally affects an area or is a ray, it affects only the target. The spell is discharged from the weapon, which can then hold an other spell.

Would that work with a war hulk's massive swing? Because all three squares (and later all squares he threatens) are the target of his attack!

Fire immunity and then channeling a fireball would be silly, but stupid effective if it worked! Hit 10 targets, setting off 10 fireballs, each hitting everyone else, doing 6D6 x 10 damage, 10 reflex haves for half if each individual fireball, or something like that.

Would be amusing

The spell only affects the first creature hit. All the creatures are separate targets. See also: volley rules.
