Would it be too powerful(by melee standards) for a DC Fighter to have a single Martial School(ToB) as a Martial Adept?

Ex. A Fighter chooses his Focus upon being inducted into the ranks of X Martial Academy, he chooses Stone Dragon. He gains Stone Dragon Maneuvers and Stances as a Warblade of equal level.

Thanks,
Sam

In four words, why not just warblade?

The width and breadth of Fighter class features is More Feats, which is why they are considered a Tier 5 Class. Homebrewing in Martial Schools is not in anyway overpowered.

This, essentially.

Plus, there aren't enough worthwhile things in just one school to take a full Warblade progression from just one, so you'd have to cut the progression down some.

But really, if you're ok with this you're ok with Warblade and you never need to do this in the first place.

As a few others (especially Urpriest, read his signature to get an idea of how to take his advice) have said, you'd probably be better off just being a Warblade instead. Dungeoncrasher Fighters, as it seems you're asking about, can be emulated well enough with just a couple of maneuvers, and in a notable amount of cases, outdone in the same field, by a Warblade.

I mean to be fair, Dungeoncrasher is nice and modular and can be wedged on to other stuff better than maneuvers can. But ToB is designed to make dipping other classes easier, so you really just ought to do Fighter/Warblade for that sort of build.

Yeah, Dungeoncrashers are at least easier to tack on (and they also have less problems concerning their reputation).

Dungeoncrasher fighter just so happens to have the exact amount of levels you can lose while still getting an IL of 17.

Coincidence, or conspiracy?
