I find the small amount of diseases in D&D a shame, and as such intend of creating more.

{table="head"]Disease|Infection DC|Incubation|Damage
Divine plague|Contact 24|1d2 weeks|2d6 Con
Low fever|Inhaled 11|1 day|1d2 dex
Mad fever*|Inhaled 16|1 day|1d3 wis, 1d2 int
Weakness*|Injury 22|1d2 months|1 fortitude save drain[/table]

Mad fever: Those who have either their wisdom, or their intelligence turned to 0 due to the mad fever become insane, as the insanity spell. Their stats return to their original values and they become immune to the mad fever.

Weakness: the fortitude saves are lowered permanently, only greater restoration can repair this and only at 1d3 per casting of the spell.

More to come.

heh, I like em. Weakness has a very large incubation time there, why is that? Also, maybe the damage from Low Fever should be a little more spread out, maybe even -1 str, dex, and con.

I also was annoyed by the low number of disease options availiable, particularly when my cleric wanted to cast Contagion:(venereal) on a member of the annoying elf couple in our party, strictly for non-lethal revenge.

If you're looking for venereal diseases, I made a couple (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11475&page=2#46) a while back.

heh, I like em. Weakness has a very large incubation time there, why is that?Because I like diseases which don't make themselves known immediately, (another bit of help for that is just to keep track of it yourself and apply the appropreate modifiers)
Also, maybe the damage from Low Fever should be a little more spread out, maybe even -1 str, dex, and con. Then it just becomes a -1 to all those stats every day you fail your save, now it might actually give a noticable penalty, while still being almost nonlethal.

How do you normally contract these diseases?

I.e.
Blinding Sickness: Spread in tainted water.
AIDS: Spread through body fluids of infected persons.

Divine plague: touching someone with it
Fever (both types): Being near someone infected
Weakness: spread through the bodily fluids of infected persons. (Yes, it's an STD)
