Where did this come from?
Go read Water Phoenix King. Now. Ignore the rough art, it becomes better as the comic goes along. (http://www.waterphoenixking.com/comic/volume-01-page-01) But anyway, one of the concepts in the comic are the racial sciences; basically, they are forms of magic/technology/theory that only work for one race. Basically, imagine if only Dwarves could make permanent magical items.

Now, (Reader's Digest version, with intentional inaccuracies to avoid spoilers), Humanity's Science is Cultivation, the science of purity and adherence to the moral order. There is, however, a lot less moralizing and a lot more no longer needing to eat, breaking swords against your skin, and killing.

Lots and lots of killing. Said moral order is a tad... puritan and "purge in fire!"

But, yeah, I just burned through the 700-page backlog to catch myself back up, and I decided to make this.

THE CULTIVAR

Hit Die: d8
Skill Points at Each Level: 4 + Int
Skill Points at 1st Level: 4 * (4 + Int)

A Cultivar's Class Skills, (and their associated ability scores) are Balance (Dex), Concentration (Con), Craft (Int), Diplomacy (Cha), Intimidate (Cha), Jump (Str), Knowledge (Any) (Int), Listen (Wis), Martial Lore (Int), Profession (Wis), Sense Motive (Wis), and Spot (Wis)

Weapon and Armor Proficiencies: A Cultivar is proficient in all simple weapons, as well as all light armors.

Chosen Discipline: At 1st level, the Cultivar selects a Discipline; they gain proficiency in all of that Discipline's associated weapons, and that Discipline's associated skill is always a class skill for them. Any Cultivar class feature that refers to their Discipline refers to this chosen Discipline.

In addition, if their Discipline has Unarmed Strike as an associated weapon, they gain Improved Unarmed Strike as a bonus feat.

For the purposes of their Discipline, and their Discipline alone, their IL is equal to their class level + 1/2 their levels in other classes.

Taboos: A Cultivar must follow certain taboos, or else loose their most potent powers for a time. Whenever a Taboo is broken, the benefits of all [Pure] abilities are suppressed for a duration that depends on the strength of the Taboo.

If a Full Taboo is broken, all [Pure] abilities are supressed for 24 hours or until the taboo is no longer being broken, whichever is longer. If a Weak Taboo is broken, all [Pure] abilities are supressed until the taboo is no longer being broken, whichever is longer. Taboos that prohibit a specific course of action are considered 'broken' for 10 minutes after that course of action is taken.

If a Full Taboo is reduced, it becomes a Weak Taboo. If a Weak Taboo is reduced, it is removed entirely.

Absolution (Ex): Following the path of Perfection absolves you to many things. Many, many things.

A Cultivar may take [Exalted] and [Vile] feats regardless of their alignment.

Becoming Whole (Ex): It is a heady thing, rectitude. It is as if you regained something you thought you had lost.

At 1st level, a Cultivar no longer needs to sleep; their own purity sustains them. In addition, they gain Endurance as a bonus feat, and reduce any ability score penalties they are subject to by 2, including those incurred by aging.

In addition, the Cultivar applies the Perfection bonus from Cultivation of Perfection to any saves made against such effects.

Death effects
Mind-Affecting abilities
Petrification
Polymorph effects

However, the potency of their body and spirit are contingent on their adherence to proper behaviors; as such, they gain two Taboos at Full Strength.

This is a [Pure] ability.

Cultivation of Perfection (Ex): To cultivate purity is to know your place, and to know what path to take.

At 1st level, a Cultivar gains a +1 Perfection bonus to AC, and to all attacks made with one of their Discipline's weapons. This bonus increases by 1 at 5th level, and every 4 levels thereafter.

In addition, as long as they are not wearing armor or are carrying less than their Light Load, they gain a Dodge bonus to AC equal to their Charisma modifier.

Purity Arts (Su): Adherence to the proper path grants great strength of arms to those faithful.

At 2nd level, the Cultivar learns a single 1st level maneuver of their chosen Discipline; they may use it once per encounter. At each even level thereafter, they learn an additional maneuver of the highest level available to them, as indicated on the above table; at each odd level, they learn an additional maneuver that they qualify for.

They may learn a maneuver multiple times, each time gaining an additional use per encounter of that maneuver.

Maneuvers learned through this class feature are supernatural abilities if they were not already, and as such calculate their save DCs as (10 + ECL/2 + Cha).

Rightness of Bearing (Ex): As long as your zealotry holds, you are above lesser men.

At 3rd level, a Cultivar learns a single Stance of 1st level from their Discipline; they permanently gain the effects of that Stance. At 7th level, and every 4 levels thereafter, they learn an additional Stance of a level up to the highest level Art they could learn plus one.

If any of their Stances specifies that it ends in a given circumstance, they lose the benefits of that Stance in that circumstance; they may re-enter that Stance as a swift action. If the Stance further specifies that it cannot be re-entered until a certain condition is met, that condition must be met for the Cultivar to re-enter the Stance.

This is a [Pure] ability.

Speed of Purity (Ex): There is a certain lightness of step among those that practice perfection.

At 3rd level, a Cultivar gains a +5' Perfection bonus to all of their speeds. At 6th level, and every 3 levels thereafter, this bonus increases by 5'.

In addition, the Cultivar adds the Perfection bonus from Cultivation of Perfection to Initiative checks.

First Circle of Purity (Ex): There once was a maiden...

At 4th level, a Cultivar gains the benefits of a non-magical Endure Elements effect, as well as DR/magic equal to half their level, as their bodies become far more durable. In addition, they gain the Dodge bonus from Cultivation of Perfection in no or light armor, or when carrying less than their medium load.

In addition, they gain a +2 Perfection bonus to three ability scores of their choice.

Upon gaining this ability, the Cultivar gains an additional Taboo at Full strength, but may reduce one of their Taboos.

This is a [Pure] ability.

Fullness of Body (Ex): ...who left home to seek perfection.

At 6th level, a Cultivar retroactively gains maximum HP per hit die. In addition, they are immune to all mundane poisons and diseases, and apply the Perfection bonus from Cultivating perfection to saves against all supernatural poisons and diseases.

Second Circle of Purity (Ex): She slew friends and foes...

At 8th level, a Cultivar gains Spell Resistance equal to 10 plus their level, no longer need to eat, apply their Dodge bonus from Cultivation of Perfection as long as they are not wearing heavy armor or carrying their heavy load, and apply the reduction to ability score penalties from Becoming Whole to ability damage.

In addition, they gain a +2 Perfection bonus to their other three ability scores.

Upon gaining this ability, the Cultivar gains an additional Taboo at Full strength, but may reduce one of their Taboos.

This is a [Pure] ability.

Third Circle of Purity (Ex): ...and faced trials and tribulations...

At 12th level, the Dodge bonus to AC from Cultivation of Perfection becomes a Deflection bonus, as their perfection guards them ceaselessly. Finally, the reduction to ability score penalties increases to 4.

In addition, the bonuses to ability scores from the First Circle of Purity increase to +4.

Upon gaining this ability, the Cultivar gains an additional Taboo at Full strength, but may reduce one of their Taboos.

This is a [Pure] ability.

Fourth Circle of Purity (Ex): ...in its pursuit.

At 16th level, a Cultivar's Spell Resistance increases by 2, their reduction to ability score penalties applies to Ability Drain as well, and the Deflection bonus from Cultivation of Perfection applies regardless of how much they carry or what armor they wear. They also no longer need to breath, as their perfection fills their lungs.

In addition, the bonuses to ability scores from the Second Circle of Purity increase to +4.

Upon gaining this ability, the Cultivar gains an additional Taboo at Full strength, but may reduce one of their Taboos.

This is a [Pure] ability.

Fifth Circle of Purity (Ex): "I would have done nothing differently."

At 20th level, a Cultivar gains Divine Rank 0, with all that entails; do not recalculate their base land speed. In addition, the reduction to ability score penalties increases to 6, and all of their ability scores gain a +6 Perfection bonus.

They are now at the top of the moral order; as such, they gain an additional Taboo at Full strength, but may either reduce two Taboos once, or one Taboo twice.

This is a [Pure] ability.

1

Example Taboos
Cannot enter or stay in direct sunlight.
Cannot enter or stay in running water; Blood Sprites with a Swim speed cannot select this Taboo.
Cannot enter or stay in a home or other building without the express permission of someone with the authority to give that permission; this does not apply to public structures.
Cannot enter or stay on holy ground.
Cannot approach within 5' of someone brandishing a holy symbol; brandishing a holy symbol takes a Standard action.
Cannot look at themselves in a mirror.
Cannot allow any area that they frequent to stay disorganized.
Cannot refuse hospitality.

Oh, and by the way, I'd like suggestions for class features to fill up dead levels.

Note About the Circles of Purity: They are set up the way they are because they eventually scale up to just the benefits of the Fifth Circle. Seriously, I needed to throw all that stuff in to let them smoothly scale up to DvR 0.
