Does the hellfire shield ability provoke an AoO? If it did, it would undermine its own purpose. It does not explicitly say so, but the eldritch blast does.

Neither swift nor immediate actions of any kind provoke attacks of opportunity. Hellfire Shield, being an immediate action, is perfectly okay.
