I'm wanting to create a D&D 3.5e character based of the 'Meister and weapon' idea from the popular Japanese anime 'soul eater'. So i was looking around on the web for a class that might suit my requirements and i came across this webpage:

I was wondering if you could tell me whether this would be balanced enough to be acceptable to play in a game?

That class...isn't very good. Half BAB on a class that ostensibly wants to be a melee warrior, with a lame list of bonus feats and barely more meldshaping than a soulborn. Hell, it doesn't actually have Perform as a class skill, which seems to be necessary to use a lot of these awful feats.

You said it's supposed to represent this anime, but what do you envision it actually doing in combat?

You could just...get an item familiar weapon and be significantly high enough level for it to be fairly intelligent, then just PAO it into whoever you want. That's totally how that works, right?

I should probably mention that the campaign is Gestalt, so i can use other classes alongside if that makes it any better? but yer it does look a bit underpowered as it is.

In gestalt it's still horrible, because the chassis is crap and the abilities are also crap. You're way better off going Incarnate on that side.

I see your point there, thanks for the advice. I think it must have probably been built for a campaign setting where everyone plays them classes and played as if it were the anime.

Play a Duskblade, grab a cohort (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=215225).
