So while looking at the spell it doesn't say anything specifically about shaping the material besides the square foot per level and I was wondering could you say have a diamond that weighed a pound and shape it however you wish or just a simple egg like shape or a square stuff like that. Do remember that Major Creation says:

This spell functions like minor creation, except
And Minor Creation states:

You must succeed on an appropriate skill check to make a complex item.

But it's up to the DM what complex means. One could say a square diamond is complex because it requires cutting and another would call it a simple shape.

As for density, I assume that also up to the DM. Nothing in the rules seems to prohibit it.
