View Full Version : [Pathfinder] True Resurrection: cheating death?

It's obvious that True Resurrection, though powerful, can't revive anyone who's died from old age. However, I have found what appears to be a loophole:

What if someone was on their deathbed, about to die of old age, and they killed themselves with another means (poison, dagger, etc.). Would they be able to be True Resurrected, as I suspect, or not?

Also, what age would they revive at? I assume they would revive young and at full health...would they?

More of a fluff question than a rules debacle.

Well it seems general implied that resurrection brings you back at the same age you died. Old age is a fact in DnD and you cannot avoid it...

Wait you can! (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/r/reincarnate)

Ah, so there's no need to cheat here. Forgot about that spell there.

It might suck to reincarnate in certain creatures, but it does allow you to live forever. Combine with wish if you want to stay the same humanoid, or just multiple reincarnates (which is icky, constantly killing yourself just because you aren't happy with your body...).

In DnD 3.5 immortality was an option, but often just outside what people considered core or required loopholes. Now pathfinder not only is reincarnate the ultimate live forever way, it also introduced a couple of more options in the normal line of books. Wizards and Alchemist come to mind. As does mythic.

Cheating death has kinda become more mainstream.
