Illuman Beguiler/4wiz/UM on a 32 pt build with practiced spellcaster, abrupt jaunt, versatile spellcaster, extend, and ______.

Will have 13k gold

8/14/14/18/12/8

Skills geared for knowledge and concentration.

I'm looking for offensive spells, but have almost no experience as a caster. I'd hate to miss a lot and burn through spells. Any and all advice is appreciated! Thanks :)

The sixth post in that link has example spells prepared for a Focused Specialist Conjurer at levels 5, 10, and 15. Just remember that you'll get spontaneous access to many spells like Expeditious Retreat, Silent Image, etc. via Beguiler so you won't need to prepare those in Wizard slots.

Prepare a lot of crowd controls and debuffs (Wall of Smoke, Grease, Web, Glitterdust, Stinking Cloud, Solid Fog, Black Tentacles, etc. You don't really need to spend your limited daily spells to deal hp damage if someone else in the party can deal an unlimited amount of damage by swinging a weapon effectively. If you really do want to be able to kill opponents, my go-to choices are Fell Drain Kelgore's Grave Mist and (if you kept Enchantment) Fell Drain Power Word: Pain. You'll want to trap opponents in a Web or similar before using Grave Mist so they're trapped in it for multiple rounds. Both of those will deal a negative level per round in addition to their damage. If you don't take Fell Drain for that last feat, make it Sculpt Spell.

Edit: Be sure to take Able Learner! Illumians are Humanoid (Human) so they qualify for it. Use a flaw if necessary, there are some decent ones here (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=258440#30).
Edit2: This Wizard variant (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/classes/variantCharacterClasses.htm#wizard) allows you to get Improved Initiative instead of Scribe Scroll. You can still pick up a 5th Wizard level after UM to get the Domain Power or Spontaneous Divination ACF.
