It's out (http://www.adultswim.com/shows/athf/movie/index.html). And the movie's apparently called 'Colon' or something.

An ATHF film was always going to be fantastic but this trailer makes me want to see it even more.

15min TV show -> 86min movie

Color me a little concerned.

There's only one way they can fill that time.

Ninja pirate wars.

Or, y'know, possibly a plot, but that ain't the ATHF way.

Watchability isn't the ATHF way :smallmad:

Maybe if I'm lucky, the movie will be so bad that the TV show will die, and Adult Swim will go back to showing stuff worth watching.

15min TV show -> 86min movie

Color me a little concerned.

It's better, IMO, than, say, the Family Guy movie (which literally was just a string of episodes after its release...). At least a 15 minute tv show will be extending it's humour far beyond the time constraints of the norm to really make it a movie for its fans (assuming its done well...and this looks decent so far).

That, and ATHF doesn't really conclude in a definitive way each episode.

"You need to do what I say, because I'm gonna eat your brains!" *credits with almost no pause*

Therefore it'd probably be easy to extend it somewhat than with shows that have definitive conclusions, such as, say, the Simpsons.

That's the concern. You have guys who are set in writing for 15mins at a time and have been doing it for 6 years now. They plan for it. They pad it out when they are running short (and they use this technique a lot). They use repetition, since they know that they only have to run for 15mins and need not worry about that comedy well running dry.

If they can get past the padding and the repetition, then they can probably churn out a good time. But since that is all I've seen from them so far, I'm a little concerned how the 86min movie will turn out.

Wampa has a legitimate worry.... and Season 4 has, really, IMO only had a few shining moments in an otherwise lackluster string of episodes.

I -really- hope the reason a lot of Season 4 blew was because Matt & Trey were saving their best material for the movie. ATHF has been my favorite cartoon for years. I'd hate to see it end not with a bang, but a whimper.

But hey, **** negativity! The trailer made me haw, so I'm hopeful!

I don't know about an ATHF movie. I love the show, but I don't think it would really work in more than 10-15 minute instalments.

My two favorite episodes are "Total Re-Carl" and "The Clowning".
