So my friend and I are going to play complementary duo for a campaign, and I'm in need of a few duo concepts that are both fun and funny,or just fun.
Thanks in advance

A bard with a minionmancer? Two psionics with a power point recharge method between them? Optimized sneak-attacking rogues who get in, kill, and get out while completely unseen? A mentally incompetent orc barbarian with a brilliant but physically crippled gnome barbarian on his shoulders?

The options are wide-open. Perhaps you could narrow-in on just what you're looking for a bit more?

Well, an example of one we had earlier, but we decided not to do it was: Two insane Derro (yes we got the ok from the DM), one a rogue who attacked people with torches, the other a barbarian who thought he was a wizard.

So, something along those lines, yet with a more wide open feel for RP. I'm a big fan of anything underdark (especially drow) and I also like gnomes, or anything that allows for some awesome RP.

What level are you starting at, and what level do you expect to reach?

You can take pretty much everything from this post (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?336188-3-5-Character-Creation-Help-%282-Characters-Level-9%29#8), though you'll need to scale it down to whatever level you're starting at.

Me and my friends have a habit of playing dumb muscle and the fast talker. We've done a monk/rogue combo in 3.5 and barbarian/gunslinger in pf. We basically played as comic relief red shirts to the more competent members of our party, but those were our first characters and it was a pretty fun way to learn the game.

Fun/Funny Duo?
You could take a note from a pair of characters that a friend and myself played years back. The classes were decidedly underpowered compared to what we could have done (Rogue/Fighter and Fighter/Rogue) but the characters were mostly designed to be silly. We were a pair of Halfling brothers with Spanish accents who both took the Leadership feat. Our cohorts were two attractive women, Wizard and Bard for the classes, whose sole purpose was to provide dramatic effect when we declared ourselves. "I am Hernaldo!", "And I am Diego!", "And together we are, The Brothers Vasquez!" at which point the Wizard cast Pyrotechnics and the Bard played our theme song. We were also very genre-savvy, haggling over the "script" and making sure we were constantly in the limelight. Other stuff included carrying around stepladders when we needed to be seen while making a dramatic statement.

I had an idea that I've not yet gotten to play out: a pair of rogues, an exceedingly large Orc and an acrobatic halfling, bound at the wrist by a chain of considerable length. The Orc is melee-built, being a dodgy but bulky tank and swinging the halfling like a living, breathing, kicking flail. The halfling specializes in Dirty Trick maneuvers and high sneak attack damage. They can also do stuff like clotheslining opponents.

Funny Duo ?

A wizard and his familiar !
To make it more fun, one player is an awakened animal who is the wizard and his "familiar" is an humanoid fighter :-)

A noble and his servant (a fighter/cavalier class for the noble and something like rogue for his servant)

Or play an Ettin ! Each of you play one head, one arm and one leg !

I've always found dwarves make great straight-men and there is something inherently comical to me about a dwarf/kender or dwarf/Halfling pairing - like a smaller version of the odd couple or Laurel and Hardy

The classic odd couple: One character should have higher Wisdom than the other to represent the 'common sense/reliable' half of the pair while the other should have higher Charisma (and perhaps even intelligence) to represent the 'curious, outgoing and flighty' half

Cleric or Druid paired with a Bard, Rogue or Sorcerer works nicely

Tiefling Warlock and Human Malconvoker. Tiefling is constantly trying to tempt the Aasimar over to the Dark Side. Malconvoker keeps on blundering through, always managing to completely screw up the mission (i.e. achieve good ends).

Warforged Totemist and Druid. <I am at one with nature.> "... this is why the other Druids never come to visit."

(Some sort of Necromancer) and Bard/Dirgesinger with Tomb-Tainted Soul.

A noble and his servant (a fighter/cavalier class for the noble and something like rogue for his servant)

Don Quixote and Sancho Panza! Always a classic.

Tibbit Psion (Telepath) and some massive thing with Int in the negatives. The big guy carries the kitty around. The kitty is the mastermind and gives the big guy instructions. The big guy follows instructions and talks to his kitty, looking like either an idiot or a lunatic, or both. Hilarity ensues.

Alternatively, replace Tibbit with any small Awakened animal. At your peril.

Actually, Awakened animal and Incarnate Construct sounds like a fairly amusing "our master was an insane wizard and now he's dead" duo, come to think of it.

Mounts are always fun, you can find some pretty crazy ones. The main problem would be the action economy.

Marshals are one of my personal favorite classes. Their auras don't stack, but you could each take different minor auras to cover more areas at once. It wouldn't be the best option for you guys alone, but the rest of your party would love it. Marshal could also serve as an alternative to Bard for the minion master idea, just as long as the minions are intelligent(ish).

There is a template in Savage Species called "Symbiotic Creature".

If one of you has the unearthly desire to play a truenamer, they have a decent number of effects which do a pretty good job of buffing friendly casters.

You could go with a druid and an animal companion, similar to the wizard/familiar idea already mentioned.

You could both play identical characters who have some sort of re-speccing ability (Binder, Factotum, and/or the Chameleon PrC). Then each day you change your roles and disguises so that no one can tell you apart. Make it a point to occasionally take your buddy's turn and vice-versa, until not even the GM knows who is who.

In a similar vein to the above you could play a pair of illusionists (or some other class good at disguising itself) and try to convince your party that you are only one person. This would probably require low player-to-player transparency though.

These are all the ones I can think of off the top of my head.
