What are your favourite small moments?

What differentiates the great from the good is the little things. And for me, the latest comic, 409, provides a perfect example. It was a good strip with interesting dialogue and the plot moving forward. But it was the last two panels that made me smile and remember what makes me read this, my only webcomic. The Giant found a way for Belkar to vent his feelings towards Miko without activating his Mark of Justice in such a Belkar way.

But what about you? What are your favourite small moments? Just one or two panels, or a throw away line of dialogue that lifts this comic above the rest of the good?

I really enjoyed belkar hanging from the gallows being swung against the back of the bandit sorceress. I dont remember exactly anymore what he said, but what he said was fun.

I was particularly fond of V's "I intentionally mispelled Explosive so they wouldn't trigger..." and Belkar's "But you didn't mispell Explos- BOOM!" exchange :P

Demon roaches playing with Xykon's crown.

Elan sneaking back into the tent with flowers and chocolate.

Haley: "Feminine products."

Belkar stabbing the dead goblin in the head.

Thog cutting down Harry Potter.

Thog's pants turning purple.

And so on and so forth...

My favorite small moment wasn't any specific comic but rather when I realized that men have square bodies and women have rounded pill like bodies. It was all I could notice for weeks.

I look at a "small moment" to be a throwaway line (either single panel joke or as an aside while someone else is the main focus).

For the Single panel jokes:
-"Pointy-eared, Purple-haired, ambiguously-gendered pain in my ass"
-Belkar's sad and pathetic stabbing of all the goblins that the enlarged Durkon just smooshed.


And for comedic asides:
-Elan in the first panel of #182, while under the dragon's foot. "Gonna wake up any second now"
-"Also: Magic Missile"
-Anything involving the demon-roaches
-The celestial roach (I'll let you figure out episode). "I don't like where this is going".
-The interplay between Miko and Roy while discussing why the OotS has all the loot. "Sanitarium?" "No, though if I knew of one that would take them, I'd consider it."

203: In reaction to Miko's charges of, Haley and Vaarsuvius look supremely guilty and make very suspicious denials. Belkar? Bland and innocent, 'never did anything wrong'.

251: Last panel, everyone in chains... the facial expressions and the amount of battering needed to subdue them really fits the characters (Roy took quite a lot, Belkar needed to be totally knocked out). Nice attention to detail.
