Ok randomly got to designing a Hexblade 20 build. Mainly to see what I could get it to do. I am wondering if there are any ways to improve the build without multiclassing or picking up some weird race.

All books allowed and dragon mag on approval. 32pb and LA buyoff is allowed.

Race: Magic Blooded Draconic Human

32pb stats: Str:16 Dex:14 Con:16 Int:12 Wis:6 Cha:20
Final stats: Str:22 (16+6 enhancement) Dex:14 Con:22 (16+6 enhancement) Int:12 Wis:6 Cha:36 (20+5 levels+5 tome +6 enhancement)

*Note: We are using the unofficial fix. So Good Fort save, Cast in medium armor with no ASF, Hex useable 1+cha mod/day, Hex doesn't count as used if enemy passes save, Quicken spells 5/day with no adjustment.*

Feats:
Flaw: Dreadful Wrath
Flaw God Touched
Human: Divine Channeler
1st: Death Devotion
3rd: Practiced Spellcaster
Hex5: Spell Focus(enchantment)
6th: Imperious Command
9th: Power Attack
Hex10: Spell Penetration
12th: Obtain Familiar
Hex15: Greater Spell Penetration
15th: Improved Familiar
18th: Minor Shapeshift
Hex20: Greater Spell Focus(Enchantment)

*Note: Working on a way to secure him visits to the Catalogues of Enlightenment to gain the domain granted power of the Undeath Domain*

Main Skills: Intimidate, UMD, Concentration

Gear bought so far:

+1 Vexing Valarous Spellstoring Wounding Sudden Stunning Eager Flail
+1 Parrying Gauntlet
+1 Warning Gauntlet

+1 Fearsom (Dotu) Mithral Fullplate.

Hexbands of Heartfelt Blows (Combining Hexbands and Gauntlets of Heartfelt Blows

Veil of Alure

Circlet of Persuasion

Orange Ioun Stone
Ring of Arcane Might

Belt of Battle

Knowstones(from Dragon they add spells known to spontaneous caster's list. Cost is Spell lvl x spell lvl x 1000) of: Greater Mighty Wallop, Wings of Cover, Wings of flurry, Fly, Bestow Curse, Black Tentacles, Lesser Celerit, Celerity.

Reliquary Holy Symbol
Nightstick

Slippers of Battle Dancing

Basic Rundown:

God Touched +Divine Channeler get me Turn Undead 1/day. So Undeath domain, nightsick and Relequary Holy Symbol get me enough TU attempts to fuel Death Devotion in every fight.

Death Devotion is a negative level per hit and I can stack up to 1/4 my level in negative levels per enemy so 5 negative levels at lvl20. This is also -5 to everything and -25hp.

GMW (CL16)+Vexing Weapon allows me to transfer to +4 of my weapon into a -4 to Attack rolls/skills/ability checks/AC of an enemy for 1 round as a free action.

Wounding Weapon is 1 con damage per hit so 2 hits equals -HD in HP.

Dark Companion is a roving -2 to everything for enemies.

My Hex is a DC 36 Will save or -6 to pretty much everything.

So opening round he sends in the dark companion, activate Death Devotion, fire off a hex, charge an enemy, use Vexing to give him a minus 4. Total penalties (not couting fear aura) should be 2+1+6+4=-13 AC. So I can safely PA that much away. So damage would be 6d6(Greater mighty walloped flail)+(9(str)+13(fire)+ 26(PA)+1 Con)x2(valarous)=21(weapon dice avg)+18(strx2)+26(firex2)+52(PAx2)+2 Con(woundingx2)= Avg damage of 117 and 2 Con. Negative level also means -5HP so 122 damage and 2 con(-hd in HP). After all of that he has to make a DC 33 Fort save (with a -13) or be stunned for 1d4+1 rounds.

TL:DR
So, Anything you can think of to make a Hexblade more efficient than being able to reliably stack -12 to -17 on an enemy not counting fear affects?

What Knowstones would you buy to round out his spell casting? They can be ANY arcane casting class as long as the spell is between levels 1-4.

Are you aware of the official unofficial hexblade changes? They constitute changes to the class suggested by its original designer, and are fairly widely accepted by the community as a useful buff to the RAW hexblade to keep it relevant and functional for the player. I wish I could give you the link; googling "official unofficial hexblade errata" might work. I believe Karnith was the first person that I saw linking to them, but I'm sure someone will be along shortly with the link.

In the meantime, just letting you know and giving your thread a bump to keep it on the first page.

EDIT; Lol, fail scanning on my part. You are using the fix, it seems. So, now this is just a friendly bump.

Heh, regarding "weird Race", Unseelie Fey template from the Dragon Compendium/magazine does magical things to a hexblade. Just saying.

I also like to go a 3 level dip into Blackguard if possible. The reason is that your your you don't get your last Hexblade curse, but you get the unholy aura which is an area effect debuff with no saves against it. Plus it also nets you Charisma to your saving throws which is great, particularly with mettle.

My Feats that I like:

Dreadful Wrath: Charge, full attack, or cast a spell and opponent has to make a will save or be shaken (-2 penalty on attack rolls, saving throws, skill checks, and ability checks).

Brutal Strike: Power attack, DC 10+ power attack amount. Fail and be sickened (-2 penalty on all attack rolls, weapon damage rolls, saving throws, skill checks, and ability checks.).

Bind Vestige +Improved Bind Vestige: Focalor (Aura of Sadness), -2 to attack, saves, Skill Checks to all within 5ft.

Netherese Battle Curse: Spend a spell, gain an attack bonus equal to the spell sacrificed. If it hits, opponent must make a will save, DC spell level+13, or take -2 on attack, damage, saves, ability check, and skill check rolls for 1 minute.

I would also be using the Dark Companion feature from the PHB2, for another -2 to saves and AC.

So lets add this all up. From Black Guard, Focalor, and your Dark companion you will now have a persistant aura that gives a -6 to saves and -2 AC with no saves involved what so ever. If you took Unseelie fey you would also add your Charisma bonus to that as well, but I will ignore that for now. Now you charge, triggering Dreadful wrath, Brutal Strike, and the Netherese Battle curse, as well as your hexblade curse, all within the aura's range. If everything goes off, your target will now have -16 to saves, -12 to attack rolls, -12 to skill checks, -10 to ability checks, -8 to damage, and -2 to AC. From there the casters in your party can have their way with your target. Or hog the glory yourself and do something like belt of battle and baleful polymorph him yourself.

EDIT: I am unfamiliar with the Vexing weapon enhancement, and the God Touched and Divine Channeler feats. Where are they from? About to play a focused specialist Necromancer in a campaign, and would LOVE to find a way to get Rebuke undead. Best I found was the Shroudcrown from PGtF without dipping into Dread Necro.
